Scott Wolf Embraces a Dream Come True in TV Return After a Difficult Year

Hallmark alum Scott Wolf is thrilling fans with a highly anticipated return to television screens.

The star of Hallmark’s “A Merry Scottish Christmas” is reprising his role of Dr. Richard Miller in the Fox series “Doc” for a multi-episode arc. The first episode featuring Wolf’s return airs on January 21. He also directed an episode of “Doc” that already aired this month.

The January 21 episode of “Doc” marks the first time that Wolf has been back on television screens with any project since his heartbreaking split from Kelley Wolf. As People noted in June, she announced the pair’s separation via an Instagram post.

“It was one of my favorite experiences I’ll ever have,” Wolf gushed about having the chance to direct an episode of “Doc” during his return to the set.

Scott Wolf Highlighted in New ‘Doc’ Sneak Peek

In a sneak peek for the January 20 episode shared by Fox, a flashback scene shows Wolf’s character approaching his colleague Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker). His attempt to talk with her came after an issue she had with Dr. Brian Clarke (Matthew Bennett).

As People shared, in the “Doc” preview, viewers see Richard question Amy about how she handled her issue with Brian. She chastised Brian after he treated one of her patients without her involvement.

Richard calls her out for telling Brian he was “in the minor leagues” in front of a number of other people.

Amy defends herself, insisting that Brian’s actions nearly killed her patient. Richard questions, “So that’s how it is now? Humiliate everyone on your way to the top?”

As the two continue to butt heads, he questions who she has become “ever since Danny died.” He wonders, “Is this really who you want to become? Because this is not who you are.”

He adds, “You’re in pain, and you’re acting out on everyone because of it.”

The title of the episode featuring Wolf’s return is “Inquisition.”

The Fan Favorite Hallmark Alum Also Directed an Episode of ‘Doc’

Not only is Wolf back on “Doc,” but he also directed one of the season 2 episodes. On January 17, he opened up about that experience.

Wolf admitted that he loved being on the first season of “Doc.” However, given how his character departed at the end of season 1, he didn’t know if he’d ever have the opportunity to “walk the halls of West Side Hospital again.”

“Finding out that I was gonna have a chance to direct an episode was just a dream,” Wolf gushed. He added, “It was an incredible experience.”

The actor admitted that it felt somewhat “weird” at first, stepping into the directing role with people he previously acted alongside. Despite some initial awkwardness, Wolf suggested that any weird feelings quickly disappeared.
