HGTV star Egypt Sherrod is jumping with both feet into her new career move after the network canceled “Married to Real Estate.”
“And so it begins…. The truest chapter🐦🔥🐦🔥🐦🔥” Sherrod captioned a post on Saturday, February 21.
Egypt Sherrod Announces Next Career Move
Sherrod’s announcement was a joint post with KBC Speaks, a company that helps “nurture rising talent” in the motivational speaking industry, according to its website.
“Egypt Sherrod is more than a mogul—she is a trailblazer, mentor, and advocate for women’s empowerment, continually redefining success and transforming lives in the process,” her profile on the platform reads.
Just one day prior, Sherrod teased fans with her career update, saying, “This year, I’m not designing from trends. I’m designing from testimony.”
“From the quiet battles. From the prayers whispered over blueprints. From the tears that taught me how to see light differently,” she wrote. “May the spaces we create this year be fearless … not because they’re loud, but because they’re honest.”
The former HGTV star added, “Unbridled, not in chaos, but in freedom,” she noted. “Unleashed, not in ego, but in purpose. I don’t just want rooms that look beautiful. I want rooms that breathe. Rooms that hold healing. Rooms that remind you that YOUR BECOMING is holy work.”
Egypt Sherrod’s Response to HGTV Show Being Canceled
After HGTV announced that Sherrod’s hit show, “Married to Real Estate,” would be coming to an end, the star said she “burst out laughing.”
“Literally, Mike and I looked at each other and burst out laughing,” Sherrod shared in an interview with People in October 2025.
According to the home renovation star, she and husband Mike Jackson were on their way home from a vacation when they learned the news. A similar situation happened the year prior, after returning from Costa Rica, when their original production team had been cleared out.
“What are the chances of us coming back from vacation the second time and getting this kind of news?” she added. “We came back on this amazing high, and I lie to you not, we were still at the airport loading our bags in our car when management and the agency called us to tell us about the show. It was insane.”
“One of the first things we said is maybe we shouldn’t go on vacation anymore. Every time we went on vacation, we would get mollywhopped with something.”
