Did HGTV Quietly Renew a Fan-Favorite Series? Why Fans Think So

HGTV fans are convinced that the network has quietly renewed one of their favorite series for a ninth season. While the network has not officially announced a renewal — and season eight is currently wrapping up filming — fans believe they have spotted clues.

‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 9?

It appears fans can get excited about yet another season of “Fixer to Fabulous,” that is if fans’ theories are correct.

One eagle-eyed fan spotted a casting call for “a new season of Fixer to Fabulous” on the HGTV site.

“Calling all Bentonville, Arkansas families: Do you live in an older home that needs some love? HGTV is looking for homeowners in the area with plans to renovate!” the ad read.

According to the open call, “To be eligible, you must currently own a home within a 30-minute drive from Benton County and have an existing reno budget of more than $120K and higher for your projects.”

While the listing did not specify whether this would be for an unannounced ninth season, or if they are still casting for season eight, star Jenny Marrs recently revealed that they were wrapping up projects for the latest season.

‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 8

The beloved Arkansas-based designer and husband Dave Marrs took to social media earlier this summer to announce an upcoming season 8.

“We have some news…SEASON EIGHT of Fixer to Fabulous is coming!! 🙌” they shared in a joint Instagram post on June 22.

The post continued, “We’ve been hard at work on 14 new episodes – we have 9 houses in construction now, 2 reveals are completed, and 2 more reveals are happening this week! We cannot wait for you all to see these projects and meet these incredible families. We have amazing stories to share this year and are truly grateful for the chance to do so.”

While Jenny noted that they “don’t have an air date just yet,” she thanked fans for their continued support.

“THANK YOU all for the support, encouragement and love. Our entire team is immensely grateful that you all continue to invite us into your living rooms each year. It’s a privilege we don’t take lightly,” the caption read. “I’ll share with y’all as soon as we do [have a premiere date]!”

Nearly two months after their initial announcement, it seems there is still no date set for season 8.

After one fan asked on her latest Instagram post when to expect more episodes of their hit show, Jenny responded, “They should air this fall. We don’t have an air date yet (we are still working on the renovations!) but I’ll announce the date as soon as I have it!”

Despite their massive success and loyal fans, Jenny and Dave initially turned down the opportunity to star in their own design series.

“We just we had a good business. We didn’t really have a desire to grow a lot more, [or to] be on television. So we yeah, we just said no originally,” Dave explained during an interview with Extra TV.

He added, “We did say yes and thinking, ‘Hey, we’ll have a pilot maybe a few more episodes. And here we are in season 7.”
