HGTV star Jasmine Roth opened up about the realities of motherhood just days before announcing her pregnancy.
The “Help! I Wrecked My House” star has learned a lot over the years, since welcoming her first child in 2020 and is sharing her “truth” with followers.

Roth took to social media earlier this week to share what she’s learned through her journey, noting that motherhood is “built” over time.
“A few things about motherhood I haven’t shared before…” she wrote alongside a series of photos with her two daughters. “I never expected to have two kids. I actually never expected to have kids at all. I knew I wanted a career because I wanted to be financially independent and use my abilities to help others, but marriage and being a mom weren’t initially on my list.”
Roth, who is the mother to daughters Hazel and Darla, is currently expecting her third child with husband Brett Roth.
“The truth about motherhood is that while technically you become a mom overnight, just like happiness, a mother is actually built piece by piece. Motherhood is a journey, built in the moments nobody else sees,” she explained. “It’s a deep and silent transformation that most of us don’t even realize as we’re going through it. This realization helped me re-frame my mindset about motherhood and give myself a lot more grace.”
She continued, “The inclination to compare myself to other moms became almost ridiculous as I realized they’re at a different place in their journey.”
According to Roth, after her realization, she has been able to better “prioritize and pause.”
“I’ve also given up a lot of control, realizing that motherhood isn’t about being in charge. Acknowledging that I have a lot to learn, that time will teach what nothing else can, and that the best plans will certainly be broken…my outlook on motherhood has completely changed,” Roth noted. “I thought I’d be able to tackle being a mom the way I approach everything else in my life. Show up, give it your best, work hard, hustle through it. And while that approach is certainly part of it. The real success I’ve found is in letting go and being humble enough to recognize that there is something bigger (and so much better) than our little brains can imagine.”
Jasmine Roth Expected Baby No. 3
On Thursday, May 14, Roth shared the exciting news that baby No. 3 is on the way.
“I was completely shocked and instantly emotional,” she told People of learning she was expecting. “It took us over a year to get pregnant with our second daughter, Darla, and we needed medical intervention, so a spontaneous pregnancy was the last thing I expected. I immediately ran downstairs to tell my husband, and he had the exact same reaction — total disbelief mixed with excitement.”
In her Instagram post, Roth revealed that Darla was born a month early.
“Then after a rough pregnancy and a dramatic birth, we welcomed Darla a month early and spent the next year caring for a preemie baby. Something we never anticipated and certainly weren’t prepared for,” she shared.
She told People, “After having our first baby one month into COVID and our second arriving early and spending time in the NICU while we were also moving to a new state, I’m honestly just hoping for a little less chaos surrounding this birth.”
