AI slop strikes again. HGTV star Jenny Marrs took a moment to point out a photo circulating of her and husband Dave Marrs at the 2026 Met Gala, explaining it was fake and “comical,” but also “kind of scary.” Check out the latest story to pop up about the couple.
Jenny Marrs Weighs in on Photo of Her & Dave at Met Gala: ‘AI Has Gotten Out of Control’
On May 5, Jenny took to her Instagram Stories to point out a fake photo that had landed on Facebook.
The Facebook post noted, “Panic and shock swept through the packed red carpet at the Met Gala tonight as beloved television couple Dave and Jenny Marrs made their highly anticipated entrance in front of hundreds of photographers and millions watching live around the world — before Jenny Marrs suddenly stumbled and fell unexpectedly on the carpet.”
According to the post, the scene became silent as Dave helped Jenny. “Despite the dramatic fall, Jenny was quickly assisted back to her feet and appeared to regain her composure within moments, drawing a wave of concern, applause, and immediate reactions across social media.”
While the Facebook post called it “one of the evening’s most talked-about viral moments,” Jenny pointed out that it never happened.
The “Fixer to Fabulous” star set the record straight, noting, “Y’all. I most assuredly wasn’t at the Met Gala and most assuredly wasn’t wearing this bizarre dress.”
“AI has gotten out of control,” she added. “Facebook needs to just go away. These things are comical except they’re also extremely bizarre and kind of scary.”
Jenny Marrs Reminded Fans Not to Believe Everything They Read
This isn’t the first time Jenny has addressed AI generated news about her and Dave.
On January 7, Jenny took to her Instagram Stories to clear up some news stories circulating about them.
“Hi friends! Quick reminder that anything posted on Facebook NOT on my official page is most likely completely and totally made up,” she wrote at the time.
The HGTV star continued, “I post on my page here on IG and typically share to my FB page. There are lots of fake pages pretending to be me or ‘news outlets’ or pages pretending to be HGTV.”
Jenny added, “They are not us. HGTV would never post anything personal about us either!”
She also shared screenshots of some of the stories, including one that showed Dave in the hospital. “These are fake news pages and AI GENERATED photos! This is not a real photo of Dave,” Jenny noted.
Along with another screenshot, the HGTV star explained, “THIS IS AN AI PHOTO. And no, Dave has not been hospitalized.”
“I have had several friends check in after seeing [these] weird articles,” she shared. “He’s sitting next to me drinking coffee in front of the fire right now.”
Jenny included a helpful reminder for her fans. “Rule of thumb: if I didn’t share it, assume it’s a lie and if it’s a really horrible photo (usually of me crying), assume it’s AI,” she wrote. “I’ve never posted a crying photo. And never would (for clicks). But that’s what these sites do!”
