Jenny Marrs may have a new project on the horizon — and fans are here for it. The HGTV star teased her desire to write another book, opening up about the inspiration behind it and the hesitation she feels about taking it on.
Jenny Marrs Teases New Book Idea
On March 17, Marrs took to Instagram to share that she’s possibly writing another book.
“I’ve been processing through an idea for a new book. To be perfectly honest, I thought this last book was it,” she wrote. “I love writing but I really don’t love the process of launching and marketing a book and holding my breath to see if it resonates with readers.”
Marrs noted, “I was so grateful to have written the two books I did — it was most assuredly a dream fulfilled.”
“However, over the past week or so, I have had that familiar stirring,” Marrs explained. “An idea has been slowly sifting to the surface and I *think* the book will be based upon the first six words of one of the verses I clung to over the last year: ‘Yet I still dare to hope … ‘ Lamentations 3:21.”
She explained her reservations about diving into the project, however.
“In the not-so-sneaky way of the enemy, doubt seeped in,” she shared. “I had considered calling my friend and literary agent to fill him in (and to see if it was a viable book idea), but then, just yesterday, I thought that the idea won’t actually work.”
She shared, “Besides, I can’t possibly write a whole book again. Where would I even find the time? My brain feels like it’s out of words. My creative juices aren’t flowing. I have six house renovations happening right now and four more in the works. The kids’ schedules are busier than ever. I am either rushing to a job site or a soccer field these days. My weekends are jammed packed with basketball tournaments. Etc etc etc. the excuses could fill an entire book.”
Despite the excuses, however, she shared that the idea isn’t completely out of reach.
“But, God. As I was searching for a rogue lunch box this morning, I looked out the laundry room window and saw the sky,” the HGTV star wrote. “My mind when straight to the words that follow verse 21, the reason for our great hope.”
“‘Yet I still dare to hope [when I remember this]: The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! … Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day.'”
Fans Encourage Jenny to Take the Leap
In her post, Marrs shared, “His mercies begin afresh each day. Just as the sun rises in the sky without fail, we can place our hope in him. So, maybe that was the nudge I needed. And, maybe I’ll crack open the old laptop and see what He wants me to say.”
The “Fixer to Fabulous” star hopes her words can help others. “I just wanted to share in case someone else is facing down an idea that seems a bit implausible,” she noted. “Let’s dare to hope together and see where He takes us.”
Fans flooded the comments section to cheer her on. Her biggest fan, husband Dave Marrs, commented, “Write it babe!”
“Those aren’t just words — they’re a battle cry and a testimony all in one,” one fan wrote. “I’ll be your prayer warrior on this one, write the book, Jenny!”
Another fan shared, “You bring hope and encouragement in beautiful ways, Jenny. I can’t wait to see what He does in and through you. Praying for blessings over you and with writing this next book.”
