Renée Zellweger is proving she can do more than bring characters to life on screen.
The Oscar-winning actress recently showed off her creative side during a day out with boyfriend Ant Anstead at the Sawdust Festival in Long Beach, California.
Zellweger was photographed getting hands-on with pottery while Anstead watched and cheered her on.
Anstead was previously married to HGTV star Christina Haack.
The Two Appeared to Have a Good Time
The actress kept her look casual for the outing, wearing a white shirt and baseball cap as she spent time at the annual summer art festival.
At one point, she put on an apron and sat down at a pottery wheel, taking control of the clay as Anstead stood nearby.
The moment may not have been quite as romantic as the famous pottery scene between Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in “Ghost,” but Zellweger appeared to be having plenty of fun as she worked with the clay.
The couple was also seen chatting with a friend during their time at the festival, enjoying the Southern California sunshine.
Their creative outing comes after Anstead recently opened up about his relationship with Zellweger and revealed that her willingness to get involved with hands-on projects was one of the things that impressed him when they first met.
The couple crossed paths in 2021 when Zellweger appeared on Anstead’s Discovery+ series “Celebrity IOU: Joyride.” During a recent interview with The Telegraph, the British television host and mechanic recalled how quickly Zellweger embraced the automotive work involved with the show.
“Renée is a hands-on car girl. She used a grinder to cut metal, she was welding, she was on the spanners,” Anstead said, adding that the experience involved projects she “never normally does [projects] outside film.”

He also remembered being impressed when Zellweger volunteered to move a car during filming.
“A lot of people in America don’t drive stick [manual cars] but, on the first day of filming, we needed to relocate a car for a scene,” he explained.
“Ren jumps in, goes, ‘I’ll do it!’, slams it into first, and off she goes. I’m like, ‘Wow. This lady really knows her cars.’”
Anstead went on to describe Zellweger as “a very real person” and praised her as “absolutely brilliant, the most grounded, humble person.”
The couple has continued to keep much of their relationship away from the spotlight.
Although Anstead has referred to Zellweger as “the missus,” he has clarified that they are not currently planning to marry.
“I still believe in marriage, but right now we’re really happy. We don’t need the pressure of a label,” he said.
Anstead has also spoken warmly about Zellweger’s relationship with his youngest son, Hudson.
In May, he shared photos of Hudson preparing gifts for the important women in his life for Mother’s Day, offering another glimpse into the bond between the actress and Anstead’s family.
