Tristyn & Kamohai Kalama Gave an End of Summer Life Update

On September 1, the Kalamas took to Instagram to share a life update for August. Among the photos of highlights from the end of summer, they included a look at the family photo shoot, the kids starting school (2nd grade and 4th grade), their sweet dogs, and other fun moments.

“August was … a lot. Are we the only ones that feel that way?” they wrote in the caption.

The “Renovation Aloha” stars shared just a glimpse at how busy their end of summer was. “Kids went back to school, a bagillion sports, Hawai’i experienced a hurricane, we launched a new podcast episode, bought, started and finished some houses, found a cat a home, installed our first septic system on Oahu, hired new employees, got a vibe board, took family photos, and of course got some back to school sickness,” they wrote.

The couple added, “There’s a lot more not in there but you get the [gist].”

Many fans commented that they could relate to that end of the summer crush of activities.

“Absolutely. It felt like 3 months. Notice how no one ever says ‘lazy summer’ anymore? I don’t think the concept exists now,” one fan wrote.

The Kalamas responded, “Right, we were talking about August and my brain about melted.”

One fan wondered if the hurricane impacted the HGTV stars. “Wow that was some month! Hope you made out ok with the hurricane 🙏,” they commented. “Love your show and your beautiful family! You are blessed 😍.”

They responded, “We are good! A lot of families still recovering and a lot of people don’t know about what Hawai’i experienced with the hurricane.”
