Jenny Marrs‘ new book, “Trust God, Love People,” comes out this fall and she’s sharing the main reason she wrote it. The HGTV star revealed how her family inspired her to put pen to paper and step out of her comfort zone to make the book a reality.
Jenny Marrs Shares Why She Wrote ‘Trust God, Love People’
On August 25, Marrs took to Instagram to share a gorgeous photo of her youngest son with a flock of sheep on their family farm.
She explained in the caption, “Exodus 10:2 is underlined, starred and highlighted in my Bible. I love my NLT translation: ‘You will be able to tell wonderful stories to your children and grandchildren about the marvelous things I am doing (among the Egyptians) to prove that I am Lord.'”
Marrs continued, “This morning, as I read these ancient words, a little over a month before my book — Trust God, Love People — launches into the world, I felt an immense peace.”
The HGTV star revealed how telling her story had everything to do with her children. “After all, the reason I wrote all of these stories down was for my children to have a record of God’s faithfulness to our family,” she explained. “I wanted them to have a hardback, black-and-white, printed testimony for themselves and for their own kids to read someday.”
She added, “I wanted them to know the details of all the ‘marvelous things’ He has done so that when [they’re] facing their own ‘stubborn Pharoah’ moment, they will be able stand firm on the faithfulness of our trustworthy God.”
Marrs’ book comes out on October 7, 2025.
Jenny Marrs Said Writing the Book Was ‘Daunting’
In June 2025, Marrs gave fans a peek at her book and explained her writing journey.
“For the past three years, I’ve been quietly plugging away writing one story, one page, one chapter at a time. Small steps. Because the big picture of writing this book felt daunting,” she explained.
“Each time I sat down to write, I’d pray about which stories to share and then I’d wonder how in the world I’d ever take all of these stories and find the common thread connecting them.”
Marrs credited her editor with finding the thread. “She said simply: This book is about learning to trust God and then, in turn, loving the people He puts in my path as a result of that deep, abiding trust,” she shared.
“And, a title was born: ‘Trust God, Love People,'” Marrs added.
