Madonna’s Rare Photos Now Available for Her 68th Birthday

Madonna fans celebrated her turning 68 years old on Aug. 16. There are numerous photos of the pop icon’s iconic moments, including her kiss with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Awards.

However, there are still photos that haven’t been seen or weren’t available to the public. Now fans can buy them and add them to their collection in celebration of the “Confession II” singer.

Madonna’s Who’s That Girl World Tour Pictures Are Now Available

Photo company Sonic Editions has 17 photos on sale of Madonna at different points in her career. Multiple prints show her rocking a shorter haircut in her “Madonna” album era.

Other photos are from her time in London. She was photographed leaving a car and going into a hotel in the city in 1987 when she was on the Who’s That Girl World Tour. One of the black-and-white prints is of that moment. Fans and photographers waited outside the hotel for another glimpse of the “Like a Virgin” singer. She jogged through the park and the city, and her fans followed. That moment is captured in the collection.

There is also a picture of the star standing beside George Harrison from a press conference for the movie “Shanghai Surprise.” The Beatles member produced the comedy starring her and Sean Penn.

Outernet London displayed a free exhibition using Now Building’s 360-degree digital screens on Madonna’s birthday. Fans could leave messages and photos to be included in the display, according to NME.

“Madonna helped write the language of modern pop culture through decades of relentless work, constant reinvention and a refusal to stand still,” Lookout founder Alex Wolf said. “We wanted to honour that drive and give the audience a genuine way to express their own connection to her work – through personal stories, emotions and messages.”

The pop queen released her 15th studio album “Confessions II” this July. The EDM album is inspired by her brother’s illness and her stepmother’s death, according to Interview.

“It’s hard for me to write a song about nothing. I have to tell a story. So I wrote about a lot of family trauma, and then we started making dance music,” the “Papa Don’t Preach” singer told Mel Ottenberg. She collaborated with her daughter, Lola Leon, for a song called “The Test” that is about their relationship.

“For instance, the song I wrote with my daughter, Lola,” she said. “She approached me about writing a song together as a way to heal our relationship. It was a really important moment, and it solidified the idea that now is the time to make this record.”

The mother and daughter sing about their relationship being tested. Madonna starts by saying she put Leon on a pedestal and unknowingly caused her pain by raising her in front of cameras. Leon, 29, sings about being different from her mother. The lyrics turn to them being different and still shining.

It’s unknown if they celebrated the icon’s birthday together. But the world is finding different ways to celebrate her this year.
