AMC has made some changes to its TV lineup, canceling one series after just one season while giving a beloved spinoff one final renewal. Here’s what to know about the latest changes at the network.
‘Talamasca: The Secret Order’ Is One-and-Done at AMC
AMC has pulled the plug on “Talamasca: The Secret Order” after just one season. The supernatural horror spy thriller drama aired its six-episode first season in October 2025, with the finale airing in November.
The series stars Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Celine Buckens.
“While we are not proceeding with another season of ‘Talamasca: The Secret Order,’ we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved,” an AMC spokesperson said in a statement to Variety. “The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise.”
‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ Renewed for Final Season
Meanwhile, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” has been renewed for a fourth and final season on AMC. Norman Reedus, who plays Dixon, and Melissa McBride, who plays Carol Peletier, will return to reprise their roles.
Filming has reportedly already wrapped up in November last year, with the eight-episode final season scheduled to premiere in 2027.
“After much conversation, three weeks ago, we started rolling on Season 4,” showrunner David Zabel revealed last year, per Deadline. “It will be a super-sized season. We will make eight episodes, which is very cool … and it will really allow us to complete the story of Daryl and Carol in Spain, and it will be very emotional and powerful.”
He continued, “It will also complete this part of the characters’ journey, the European adventure, and so, it’s the last season of this iteration of the show. And then, what lies beyond that for these characters, we will see. I’m sure there’s plenty, and we’re always talking about it, but it’ll be the fourth and final season.”
In July, Reedus confirmed that “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” is coming to an end.
“Daryl Dixon’s final episodes are coming 2027!” the actor wrote on Instagram. “I can’t quite believe we’re here. Thank you to every single one of you who joined us on this journey – through the good, the brutal and everything in between. We’ve gotten a lot of bruises, scars and concussions along the way. A lot of hard work went into this series, especially the crews. This last chapter is gonna hit different and hit hard. I can’t wait for you all to see them. See you in 2027.”
