Ambulance Arrives at ‘Modern Family’ Star’s Home After Trespasser Incident

An incident occurred at “Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet’s Missouri home on Friday, May 15, TMZ reports. The publication reports that “someone got onto his property, and the cops were called.”

TMZ obtained photos of the authorities arriving at the home, and more information about what happened was shared by sources who are “familiar with the situation.”

Authorities React to Trespasser Incident at Eric Stonestreet’s Home

“An alleged trespasser crossed onto Eric’s Missouri property Friday morning,” sources told TMZ. The actor’s security team called the police, who responded, along with a Kansas City Fire Department Ambulance. Kansas City Fire Chief Riley Nolan told TMZ that an “ambulance was dispatched to the address around 10:15 a.m.”

The emergency vehicle left the property, which has been Stonestreet’s home for approximately nine months, without its lights or sirens on, and was followed by a white pickup truck. “We’re told it was the trespassing suspect who suffered the medical emergency, prompting the ambulance call,” TMZ reports.

This is a scary incident for Stonestreet, but thankfully, it was resolved quickly and efficiently. He was also not at home at the time of the trespassing, TMZ reports. At present, the individual’s motive remains unknown.

Eric Stonestreet’s Special Home

Stonestreet loves living in Missouri and even married his longtime partner, Lindsay Schweitzer, at their custom-built Missouri house. Their wedding took place in September 2025, and the “Dexter: Resurrection” actor previously spoke about building their beautiful home in an interview with People.

“Well, I’ve said we’re building a house to host a wedding, and we’re still on track to do that,” Stonestreet said. “We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along.” The couple built their home together, with the actor saying there was “no better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation.”

Stonestreet is originally from Kansas City, as is Schweitzer. The pair started dating in 2016 after meeting at the annual Big Slick charity event in Kansas City, People reports. The actor was happy to later relocate, laying down roots in a place they both love.

Their home is special, but it is also custom-made. Stonestreet revealed in his interview with People that he did not want to have a dining room or a home office. “We don’t have a dining room. I have a dining room in L.A., and I can’t tell you how many meals I’ve had in my dining room,” he shared. “So I was like, ‘No dining room.’” He also shared why he did not need an office space and could use his cellphone to do what he needed to do.

Eric Stonestreet & Lindsay Schweitz’s Wedding Dream

Stonestreet and Schweitzer were not in a rush to get married, and finishing their home also took time. That said, it had always been their dream to get married in it. Stonesteet shared this vision in an interview with People in January 2025. “Right from the beginning of when we started building the house, [the wedding] was like, right at the top of the list of things that we imagined happening here,” he said.

He continued, “We’re doing this kind of late in life, building this house. We immediately started thinking of all the memories we’re going to have there with the boys and family. And, of course, the wedding being one of the things.”
