Jennifer Garner, 54, Looks Almost Exactly the Same as She Did at Her Prom: See the Sweet Throwback Photo

Jennifer Garner shared several photos on Instagram on Tuesday, September 1. The pictures offer a glimpse into her life and what she’s been up to, including her smiling after seeing a double rainbow, baking cinnamon buns, a selfie in sunglasses, a photo of her on a walk, and, perhaps best of all, a throwback to her prom.

Jennifer Garner Shares a Throwback Prom Photo

In the photo, Garner is wearing a prom dress while her date stands behind her and holds her around the waist. She made no reference to this photo in the caption, simply writing, “August,” but fans have been excited to see it. “I need you to track your prom date down and recreate this photo. No, AMERICA needs it!” a fan shared.

Other reactions to the post include, “You’re beautiful inside and out,” “Hi happy pretty girl,” and “Love this. The little joys in life.”

Jennifer Garner’s Powerful Comments on Aging Gracefully

Garner’s style has changed; her hair is different, but her face looks almost exactly the same as it did in her prom photo. At 54, she has aged gracefully, and her comments on aging are powerful and inspirational. In a June 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the “13 Going on 30” actress said, “ I want to age. I want to live to be 100. I don’t expect to look at 100 like I look today; I want to wear every single bit of those 100 years and feel great about them.”

When asked the age she feels in her head, she said, “I don’t know! Part of me is, like, really 53 because I’ve really earned every minute of every day of every year. I don’t want to be younger. I’m very grateful to be exactly this age. I’m trying to soak it up. I feel like I’m living in my power. I’m living in my wisdom. I’m living in my joy and my capacity to do and get things done. So I’m just very aware of my luck and the grace that’s been shown to me.”

Jennifer Garner Shares a Look Into Her Life as a Mom

Garner appears to be thriving in both her career and her personal life. The actress is a mother to three children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. In an Instagram post on August 10, Garner shared a photo of herself holding books, papers, a cap, and beverages, offering a glimpse into what a busy mom looks like.

In addition to being a mother and a businesswoman, some of her most recent roles include “The Five Star Weekend” and “The Last Thing He Told Me.” Garner gave a July interview with Elle and revealed that she was once told the jobs would dry up before she was 40. “We’re all fed this idea that this has to happen by this age, this has to happen by then, and it just isn’t that way,” she said. “It’s all so much more open. I’m 54, and I was told forever I would never work after 40. Knock on wood, and we’ll see, but I’m still here.”
