Joe Jonas is opening up about fatherhood and his coparenting relationship with ex-wife Sophie Turner, offering a rare glimpse into life after their divorce.

During the June 2 episode of the Jonas Brothers‘ iHeartRadio podcast “Hey Jonas!,” the singer reflected on raising his two daughters and how becoming a parent has changed his perspective on life.

“I’m a single dad and I coparent with my children’s mother,” Joe, 36, said. “I think my children have given me purpose again in my life.”

Joe shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with Turner. Per the episode, he said his daughters motivate him to work harder and help him through difficult moments.

“They’ve really given me the reason to be alive,” Joe said. “In my saddest moments, I’m able to be reminded quickly that a hug from them can solve the world’s problems.”

The singer also praised Turner while discussing their current parenting dynamic.

“There’s a lot of people in my situation that are single parents and go through this, and I’m grateful that I have a co-parent that I can balance even the bad days,” he said.

Joe Says His Daughters Give Him Purpose

Joe’s latest comments continue a theme he’s spoken about in several recent interviews.

During the podcast, he described his daughters as the driving force behind many of his decisions and said they have helped him maintain perspective during challenging times.

Joe and Turner began dating in 2016 after connecting through mutual friends and social media. They became engaged in 2017 and married in 2019, first during a surprise Las Vegas ceremony and later during a larger wedding celebration in France, according to Brides.

The couple welcomed daughters Willa in 2020 and Delphine in 2022 before announcing their separation in September 2023 after four years of marriage.

While their divorce included a highly publicized custody dispute, the former couple ultimately reached an agreement and finalized their divorce in September 2024. Per Us Weekly, Willa and Delphine now split their time between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Since then, both Joe and Turner have spoken positively about their relationship as coparents.

In a previous interview referenced by Billboard, Joe called Turner an “incredible” mother and said they have a “great coparenting relationship.” Turner echoed those sentiments in a 2024 interview with British Vogue.

“I think we’re doing the best we can,” Turner said. “Joe is a great father to our children, and that’s all that I can ask for.”

More recently, E! News reported that Turner has focused on her acting career, life in the U.K. and raising her daughters while continuing to maintain a positive coparenting relationship with Joe.

For his part, Joe says his daughters continue to be his biggest source of strength.

“I think they’ve taught me that I’m going to be OK in my toughest days,” he said.
