Gad Leaves Disneyland Paris Event to Be by His Mother’s Side

Earlier this week, Gad shared that he had to cut short a planned visit to Disneyland Paris to return home to be with his mother.

The actor had traveled to France to celebrate the opening of the park’s new “World of Frozen” themed area. But he explained that the family emergency meant he would have to leave before even seeing the attraction.

“So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new World of Frozen at @disneylandparis this week and instead have to leave tomorrow morning (before I even have a chance to see any of it) to be with my mother, who is unfortunately dealing with a serious medical emergency,” he wrote.

Gad is widely known for voicing Olaf in the “Frozen” films. Despite the disappointment, he said he hopes to return once the attraction officially opens to the public.

“I look forward to coming back and seeing this magic with the masses!” he wrote at the end of the caption. “In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get.” 🙏

Josh Gad Has Frequently Honored His Mother, Susan Gad, in Heartfelt Posts

Gad has often spoken with deep gratitude about the powerful role his mother has played in shaping his life.

In a birthday tribute shared in June 2024, the actor reflected on the sacrifices Susan Gad made while raising him and his two brothers as a single parent, crediting her unwavering support for encouraging them to chase their dreams.

“A lot of people think they have the greatest mom on the planet, but I know for a fact that that title belongs singularly to my mother @susangad who not only raised me and my brothers as a single mother, but insisted that we follow our dreams at all costs, even if it meant she had to work non-stop to give us that opportunity,” he wrote.

“I love you so much, Mom,” the caption continued. “Thank you for guiding me, teaching me, loving me, protecting me, challenging me, and lifting me. You are a one-of-a-kind. Happy birthday!!! Love you!”

When Gad celebrated his 44th birthday in February 2025, he once again turned the spotlight toward the woman he credits for everything, sharing a childhood photo and another heartfelt tribute.

“Thank you all for all the birthday love, but as I’ve always said, it’s the person who carried us, delivered us, and gave us a fighting shot who deserves to be celebrated,” he wrote. “So please congratulate Susan Gad today, my amazing mother.”

Gad most recently appeared in the 2025 films “Adulthood” and “Zootopia 2,” as well as an episode of Marvel’s television series “Wonder Man.”

He is also expected to return as Olaf in “Frozen 3,” which is scheduled to arrive in theaters in November 2027.

Celebrities, loved ones, and fans around the world are now hoping Susan Gad makes a full and speedy recovery as Josh Gad continues to stand by his mother during this difficult time.
