Kate Hudson Gushes Over Her Talented Kids & Teases Family Band Ambitions

Award-winning actress Kate Hudson has plenty to be proud of in her decades-long acting career. But these days, her true joy comes from raising her talented children.

The 47-year-old is always looking for new and exciting projects to pursue. In a new interview, she revealed that she might even start her own family band.

Kate Hudson Eagerly Encouraged Each of Her Children’s Musical Talents

On today’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Kate Hudson proudly spoke about her three children and their musical abilities. She couldn’t be prouder that they each love performing.

“Which is great,” the “Running Point” star joked. “I think I might have planned it out that way.”

Her sons, Ryder, 22, and Bingham, 14, are quite skilled with their instruments. But her daughter, seven-year-old Rani Rose, has big “pop star energy,” Kate shared.

A family band could very well be in the works.

“I think it’s gonna happen,” the mother of three dished. “Ryder plays the guitar and he sings and Bing is an amazing drummer. He’s been drumming since he was about a year old.”

Although Kate Hudson is primarily known for her iconic acting career, she also released an album in 2024.

“I had to do it at some point,” she explained on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” “For me, it was about writing my album, because I love to write music, more even than performing.”

The Actress Poured So Much Love & Care Into Her Own Debut Album

No matter how much time passes, Kate Hudson is always eager to learn and develop her craft. In 2024, she released her debut album, Glorious. Although it was unlike any other project she had produced before, she knew it was important to share her unique sound and lyrics with the world.

“I’d say it doesn’t seem real,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “But the truth is: this is realer to me than anything I’ve done in my entire life. It was always this, I just needed to get to a place where I was ready… and the songs got to the core of who I am.”

The Glorious album was certainly a labor of love for Kate Hudson. She collaborated with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, to bring the sound to life. She also consulted with artists Linda Perry and Johan Carlsson.

“When it comes to talking about where this album comes from, the years I’ve spent quietly making music and living inside the songs, I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop talking about it,” the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star shared. “I’m just thrilled so many smart people want to talk to me about Glorious and the process of making my first record.”

Without a doubt, Kate Hudson’s fans would love to hear another album, featuring her children. Until that day comes, the actress has plenty of other projects to look forward to. The second season of her Netflix show, “Running Point,” just premiered to viewers’ delight.

“Running Point” seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Netflix.
