Kevin Bacon is laughing now, but his latest outdoor adventure sounds more chaotic than relaxing.
The “Footloose” star revealed this week that a simple hike with his daughter, actress Sosie Bacon, quickly turned into an all-out bee attack — and thankfully, the family found humor in the situation afterward.
Bacon Recaps the Bee Attack
In a funny video shared to Instagram on Thursday, Bacon, 67, recalled exactly how things spiraled while hiking with Sosie and her partner, actor Scoot McNairy.
“So I went for a hike the other day with Sosie and Scoot,” Bacon explained in the clip. “Scoot was in the front, Sosie was in the middle, and I was holding up the rear.”
Everything seemed normal at first — until McNairy noticed something nearby.
“Scoot points out to the left that there’s a beehive over there,” Bacon continued. “Sosie says, ‘Dad, hey, there’s a beehive. Watch out.’”
The Oscar-nominated actor said he made an effort to avoid the hive, but apparently the bees had other plans.
“So these bees, they must not have liked my work or something because they left the two of them alone, and they went full on after me. ‘Let’s attack KB,’” he joked.
According to Bacon, the bees did not hold back.
“Bees stinging me everywhere, including underneath my shirt,” he shared.
While the ordeal sounds painful, Bacon managed to turn it into comedy — especially when it came to his daughter’s reaction.
“Now, it was very nice of my daughter to not take out her phone and start videoing this epic bee sting dance that I was doing,” he laughed. “But I asked her if there was any way that she could recreate it from memory.”
The video then cut to Sosie hilariously reenacting what her father described as his “epic bee sting dance.”
“There’s bees in there,” she joked while pretending to swat invisible insects away, wildly flailing around with a hat and dramatically pulling off her sweater.
Bacon captioned the post, “The bees attack KB by @sosiebacon.”
Fans Couldn’t Get Enough of the Funny Reenactment
Fans immediately flooded the comments with jokes and praise for the family’s sense of humor.
“I think you created a new Footloose dance — I’ll call it the Bee Sting Boogie,” one fan joked.
Another referenced Bacon’s famous Hollywood game, writing, “6 bees of Kevin Bacon.”
“OMG!! That dance is hysterical although I’m sure KB didn’t enjoy it. Feel better,” another person commented.
Even Bacon’s wife of nearly 40 years, actress Kyra Sedgwick, couldn’t resist chiming in.
“Soooooo gooood!” she wrote alongside laughing emojis, clearly entertained by their daughter’s dramatic performance.
Sosie, 34, has carved out her own successful acting career in recent years, appearing in projects including HBO’s “Mare of Easttown,” “Narcos: Mexico,” and Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why.”
She also landed her breakout leading role in the 2022 horror hit “Smile” — something Bacon previously said made him incredibly proud.
“When she got this part [in Smile]… when I saw the movie I was just really taken aback,” he told the Hollywood Reporter at the time. “Not only with how great she was but also how hard that role was.”
