Nicole Kidman’s rumored romance with businessman Michael Reinstein has reportedly cooled off, months after the pair were first seen getting cozy in public.
Sources told New Idea that Kidman and Reinstein’s fling has “lost its shine” since they were photographed in Portofino, Italy, in July. But, Kidman has a lot of excitement going on, so this shouldn’t slow her down at all. The long-awaited “Practical Magic 2” is here and Kidman has been seen enjoying life with her co-star, friend Sandra Bullock.
“Nicole knew that it was potentially over the moment they were papped in Italy,” the insider told the outlet. “The photos that showed them by the pool, and in his Ferrari, put a very private businessman into the A-list megawatt spotlight, and it freaked him out.”
Kidman has not confirmed these reports.

The outlet added that the romance brought Reinstein more public attention than he was used to.
“He had people he barely remembers from 30 years ago come out of the woodwork saying they’d been contacted by reporters,” the source said. “It’s a scrutiny not many people can understand.”
Kidman and Reinstein’s busy careers also contributed to their romance fizzling out, making it more of a “summer fling,” according to the report.
“Nicole really enjoyed Michael’s company, and he was getting under her skin, but it feels like the spotlight ruined it, and so they both kind of mutually pulled away,” the source told the outlet.

The actress reportedly wants to set a good example for her daughters when it comes to “compromising for a man.”
“She’s drumming into them the importance of standing tall when they need to and not putting up with behaviors or circumstances that don’t align with what they deserve,” the source added. “As soon as the winds shifted in her romance with Michael, Nicole knew that navigating its closure was another good modeling example for her girls”
Despite the rumored setback in her new romance, Kidman is said to be taking it in stride.
“She’s a trooper,” the source maintained. “She’ll dust herself off and direct her focus on her work – and her girls. They’re her world.”

The former “American Idol” judge and the award-winning actress have reportedly become more cordial and are now in a much better place.
“Things have gotten so much better,” the source told the outlet. “They’re actually speaking again — and he’s now suggesting that they should do Christmas as a family in Australia.”
The insider added, “When they broke up, they promised the girls they would still spend special occasions together as a family, and both Keith and Nicole do want to be true to their word. It will take some juggling, but Nicole agrees that it makes sense to spend at least some of Christmas Day together. She says she’s willing to put their baggage to the side if Keith is.”
