Perez Hilton’s Family Reveals He Needs Surgery in New Health Update

Perez Hilton’s family is sharing a new update on the celebrity blogger’s condition as he remains hospitalized following a recent medical emergency.

In a statement published on PerezHilton.com Saturday, Aug. 8, his family revealed that Hilton’s condition remains serious but stable and that he will require surgery in the coming days.

“There are many false and inaccurate reports circulating in the media regarding Perez and the circumstances surrounding this situation,” the statement began.

His Family Provides an Update

The family confirmed that Hilton remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act and said his communication has been “extremely limited,” with contact restricted to immediate family, medical providers and others directly involved in his care.

“He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements,” the family said.

They also stressed that the only authorized statements about Hilton should come directly from PerezHilton.com.

According to the family, Hilton “experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days.” They added that his treatment and recovery “will be a long process.”

The statement also revealed that Hilton was able to spend time with his mother and sister Friday.

“We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday,” the family said.

The update comes after Hilton’s recent hospitalization prompted concern among fans. Authorities previously confirmed that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple calls regarding a man livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.

Hilton was safely recovered and transported to a local hospital, where he received medical attention.

The Family Asks That His Children Have Privacy

In their latest statement, Hilton’s family also addressed the media attention surrounding the situation and asked for privacy, particularly for his children.

“There is absolutely no reason for members of the media or the public to remain outside the family’s home,” they said, asking members of the media to leave the area, stop following family members and cease photographing Hilton’s children.

The family also asked photo agencies not to purchase, publish or distribute photographs of the children.

They noted that PerezHilton.com has maintained a “no kids policy” for more than a decade, meaning the website does not publish photographs of children unless they are attending a public event or their family has made the images public on social media.

“Perez’s children remain safe and are being cared for by immediate family,” the statement said.

The family concluded by asking for continued compassion and privacy while Hilton receives treatment.

“Please allow them and the rest of the family the peace and privacy they desperately need during this incredibly difficult time,” they said.
