ABC24 reported that Local officials approved the recognition before Bridges’ death on June 1, at age 91, and that Harvey and Marjorie were present at the June 4 event to commemorate his legacy.
City leaders praised Bridges for his contributions as a businessman, entrepreneur, and mentor. Throughout his life, he owned several successful businesses and worked across multiple industries, leaving a lasting impression on countless people in the Memphis community.
Reflecting on the honor, Harvey said the tribute stood apart from others he had witnessed over the years.
“This is the first time I’ve been to a street naming of a person just cause he was a great man,” he said.
