Prime Video is home to several popular series, including options like “The Boys” and “Fallout.” However, the streamer has several other critically acclaimed shows that would be perfect for binge viewing that may not be as widely discussed. Here are four, including comedies, reality, and horror.
‘Monk’ Is Among the Most Well-Rated Shows Available on Prime Video
Prime Video subscribers have several well-rated television shows to choose from. Among them is the 2000s comedy-drama mystery series “Monk.” The series follows a former detective plagued with obsessive-compulsive disorder who has several phobias.
“Monk” premiered in 2022 on the USA Network. It lasted for eight seasons, and the main cast includes Tony Shalhoub, Traylor Howard, Ted Levine, Jason Gray-Stanford, and Bitty Schram. The show has strong reviews, garnering an impressive 89% audience and critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Some would argue that “Monk” isn’t underrated. However, its high ratings make it a show that should be discussed more widely among television fans.
Horror Fans Should Consider ‘The Horror of Dolores Roach’
Prime Video also features several horror series. One of the best-rated but least talked about is “The Horror of Dolores Roach,” which arrived on the platform in July 2023. The show draws inspiration from Sweeney Todd; however, it centers on a masseuse who goes to great lengths to keep her massage parlor open.
The cast includes Justina Machado, Alejandro Hernandez, Kita Updike, Ilan Eskenazi, and K. Todd Freeman. “The Horror of Folores Roach” has solid reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics giving it an 81% rating and audiences an 85%.
‘Clarkson’s Farm’ Is a Solid Option For Reality Fans
People looking for lighthearted reality shows to watch on Prime Video should consider “Clarkson’s Farm.” Starring “Top Gear’s” Jeremy Clarkson, the show documents the host running a 1,000-acre farm despite having no agricultural experience.
So far, there are four seasons of the popular series, with the latest premiering in May 2025. The show has a 97% audience score and a 97% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
‘The Tick’ Is great for Those Wanting a Remake of a Classic
There are several remakes of classic television shows, including Prime Video’s short-lived “The Tick.” The show, a live-action adaptation of a 1990s animated series, premiered on the streaming platform in 1994 and ran until 1997.
The show lasted until 2019 and starred Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Brendan Hines, and Valorie Curry. The sci-fi show also has impressive reviews. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 95% rating while audiences gave it a 93%.
