Katie Ginella joined “The Real Housewives of Orange County” for the show’s 18th season. Now, after two seasons, she’s revealing that she will not be a part of the cast for season 20.
Ginella took to Instagram on January 9 to announce the news. She began, “After two seasons as a cast member on RHOC, the network has decided to move forward with season 20 without me.
While disappointing, it’s not entirely surprising after seeing how season 19 played out. I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support I received – it was seen, felt, and deeply appreciated.”
Ginella then said, “Representation matters, and I’m proud to have shown up authentically, even when it wasn’t easy. This chapter may be closing, but my voice and my story don’t end here.”
Her husband, Matt Ginella, responded, “Love you more than ever.🙏 Onward! (With a lot less tears and toxicity.)” A fan wrote, “Noooo🥺❤️gonna miss you on my screen 😩 keep your head up queen Katie.”
Katie Ginella Previously Wanted to Make Amends
Ginella had a difficult season on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” This especially came after the lie detector episode. Notably, she didn’t appear on the series again after this, except for two short scenes: one with Tamra Judge and the other with Jennifer Pedranti.
Following this, she spoke to E! News about her hopes for the RHOC season 19 reunion. She said, “I think maybe there’s a possibility of a fresh start after the reunion. That’s what everybody hopes, right? This show is about conflict resolution, and I think I’m owed some apologies. I’ve given enough out.
I’m hoping that they can recognize that they’ve done things wrong. I have literally apologized over and over and over and owned the things I needed to. And, if they expect that of me, I need to expect it in return.”
She also spoke about the reunion to US Weekly. She said, “I would love to be at the reunion. They asked me to be at BravoCon, which I’m really excited about. A lot of [my costars] are saying, ‘If Katie comes back, I won’t.’ So I mean, maybe we should just all read the comments and see who they want to come back.
I’m actually putting the reunion off on a file folder in the back of my head because it’s not soon, thankfully. And also, it’s just a very daunting thing. I don’t think I need anything cleared up. I think I need some apologies.”
Vicki Gunvalson is Returning
Currently, the only confirmed cast member for“The Real Housewives of Orange County” season 20 is Vicki Gunvalson. This came after it was announced at BravoCon 2025 that she would be a full-time housewife. Notably, Andy Cohen asked her if she would return during the “Bravos” segment at the Las Vegas convention.
Gunsvalson has also confirmed that the season will be filmed in February. Additionally, she will be a part of “Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip.”
