Kyle Richards Reflects on Attending Mary Cosby’s Son Robert Jr.’s ‘Incredibly Moving’ Memorial

In early March, a memorial service was held for “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., who passed away on Feb. 23 at the age of 23. Mary’s co-stars were said to be in attendance, along with other Housewives who wanted to show their support during such a difficult time.

One of those Housewives was RHOBH star Kyle Richards, who recently explained at an event why she chose to attend the memorial for Robert Jr. despite not being especially close with Mary.

While attending the “An Unforgettable Evening” Benefitting The Women’s Cancer Research Fund on March 11, Kyle Richards was asked by People about her experience attending fellow Housewife, Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr.’s, memorial service earlier this month.

“I don’t know her well, but she’s somebody who’s always been kind when I have met her, and as a mother and a fellow Housewife, I just felt I needed to be there and show up and support her,” she began.

Richard called the memorial “incredibly moving,” sharing that she had “never experienced something like that.”

“I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to be there and support her and experience something like that. Like I said, I will never forget that day ever in my life,” Richards added.

The reality star also mentioned that she and Cosby have since connected through text. “I appreciated her having me there because I just, like I said, I was so touched by it,” she adds. “I just can’t imagine what she’s going through,” she said.

On the March 9 episode of his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen revealed that several familiar faces attended the memorial for Robert Jr. to show support for their fellow Housewife and her family.

Cohen, who could not attend the memorial due to other obligations, shared, “I had so many things to do with the kids this weekend, a lot of commitments, which is why I actually was not able to go to Robert Jr.’s service on Saturday in Salt Lake City. I got a full report, though, and I hear it was an absolutely incredible ceremony.”

“It was Pentecostal and besides the Salt Lake City Housewives and production team, I know that Cynthia [Bailey] was there and Shereé [Whitfield] was there and Kyle Richards was there, which was just, I love it that they went,” Cohen said.

Cohen went on to state that the memorial was “so uplifting” and “absolutely, kind of, rapturous.”

According to People, Robert Jr. died on Feb. 23 of a possible overdose in Utah. He was 23.
