Teddi Mellencamp Says Her Daughter’s Birthday Party Meant ‘Everything’ After Heartbreak

Teddi Mellencamp, who starred on the main cast “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” from 2017 to 2020, joyfully celebrated being present for her daughter Dove’s 6th birthday party after being unable to attend last year amid her ongoing battle with malignant melanoma.

In an update at the end of January 2026, Teddi said on Tamra Judge’s podcast “Two T’s In a Pod” that she currently has “no trace of cancer,” but added, “I’m still considered stage four and I’m still in immunotherapy, so essentially nothing’s changed other than I still I don’t feel great. I would hope that I would be feeling better by now, but I really don’t.”

Teddi Mellencamp’s Birthday Message to Her Daughter, Dove

The 44-year-old embraced Dove in a sweet photo from the party which she captioned, “Last year I was in the hospital and missed Dove’s birthday party. This year I wasn’t going to let the same thing happen. So grateful and emotional that I get to celebrate six with her.” She added on her Instagram Stories that last year’s situation “broke my heart.”

She wrapped up her message to Dove with, “Love you so much, Dovey Doo. Hope this year is your best yet.” Fellow Beverly Hills housewife Kyle Richards commented, “Happy birthday baby Dove,” and “RHOC” star Tamra Judge chimed in, “Happy birthday Dove.”

Teddi’s sister, Justice Mellencamp, also shared a birthday message, writing, “Aunt Bird Loves you Dovey doo!”

Teddi Mellencamp Nostalgically Reflects On the Day Daughter Dove Was Born

A few days before sharing shots from her Dove’s party, Teddi flashed back to the day she was born with a touching hospital photo from shortly after the little girl’s birth.

She called Dove “my miracle baby” before going on, “The strength and resilience you have shown since you came into this world is something I have learned to use in my own fight. And now at 6, you’re teaching us all how to enjoy life to the fullest while being your unabashed self. I am still so sorry I was in the hospital and missed your 5th party; but dang you don’t know how grateful I am to be at this one.”

In the newborn throwback photo, baby Dove’s head is wrapped in bandages because she was born with Lambdoid Craniosynostosis, which Teddi explained in a July 2020 post is a “very rare type of non-syndromic craniosynostosis and occurs when one of the lambdoid sutures at the back of the head fuses before birth.”

In a post last August, Teddi celebrated Dove’s first day of kindergarten, saying, “I cannot believe this miracle baby is going to start doing homework and asking me to help with math problems that I cannot solve.”
