After Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss’ divorce was finalized on March 11, Todd proved the split isn’t getting him down. He took to Instagram and shared a post set to the upbeat hip-hop song “Shawty” by by rapper Plies, which features T-Pain. Todd, a Leo born August 4, hyped up his zodiac sign by reposting a message from the account @quotesforleos which read, “Not to be cocky but a Leo is the type of person you meet & think about for the rest of your life.”

News first broke of Todd and Kandi’s split on October 21, 2025. The divorce is final almost 4 months later. Kandi told People at the time, “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.” She added that she was “stepping into a new chapter” and focusing on work, family, and “my own growth.”
Shortly after the news hit, Todd announced the death of someone very close to him and told fans “I’m doing my best.”

On Tuesday, March 17, Todd possibly revealed what’s going through his mind the week after his divorce was finalized by reposting some sage relationship advice from the Instagram account @pulsetoria.
The video he reposted contains the message, “Don’t marry the person you can have fun with. Marry the person you can suffer with. Anyone can love you when life is good – when the sun is shining, the money is flowing, the smiles come easy. That part is simple. But love isn’t proven on the best days. Love is revealed on the worst ones, when life hits hard. When the nightmare starts. When everything feels uncertain.”
The message went on, “Romance isn’t vacations and photos. Romance is who sits next to you in the E.R. waiting room at 3 AM. Who holds your hand when the future feels terrifying. Looks at the broke and exhausted messy version of you, and still chooses you. Still stays and fights for you. Because anyone can be your playmate in the sunshine. But the right person, they’re the one willing to walk with you.”

On March 9, two days before their split became official, Kandi and Todd both shared posts announcing their daughter Blaze had won 1st place in the Little Miss Pearl pageant. The exes posed in a group photo with Blaze and several more supporters including their son Ace, Mama Joyce, and Kandi’s close friend, Carmon.
