TMZ reported that the reality TV favorite, known to viewers as “Big Hoss,” recently revealed that the cost of treatment has nearly depleted his savings.
Corey Harrison Says Medical Bills Nearly Wiped Out His Savings: How To Help
A&EWhile Harrison is finally recovering at home after his hospital stay, the aftermath of the accident has brought overwhelming financial strain. TMZ reports that he estimates his medical bills have climbed to about $120,000. Harrison said the expenses have nearly drained his savings.
According to him, only about $400 remains in his bank account. He also owes money to his father and friends who stepped in to help cover urgent medical costs.
Harrison acknowledged that turning to fans for support was a difficult decision. As per TMZ, he said: “What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff? I can’t move from my recliner.”
He said he still receives occasional residual checks from reruns of “Pawn Stars,” but he is no longer part of the series. Rick Harrison also briefly addressed the situation. TMZ quoted Rick as saying: “Corey is a grown man, and he will deal with his life as he sees fit.”
For now, the GoFundMe campaign is intended to help Harrison regain financial stability as he continues healing from the frightening accident.
Tulum Motorcycle Crash Left Corey Harrison Hospitalized for Weeks
Harrison first shared news of the accident in January while updating fans on social media.
“Pretty messed up, but I’m good,” the reality star, 42, wrote via Instagram alongside a picture of himself in a hospital bed.
“Crash bars are awesome. Three nights in the hospital. 11 breaks in my rib cage.”
Harrison said the crash caused multiple injuries that required immediate treatment. He suffered 11 fractured ribs, a concussion, and facial injuries.
The severity of the injuries forced him to remain hospitalized for weeks. It also meant missing an important family milestone. Harrison was unable to attend his father, Rick Harrison’s, January wedding because he was still recovering in the hospital.
Doctors kept him admitted for roughly two weeks as they worked to stabilize his condition and begin the healing process.
Now, through this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $18,000, fans and family can help him regain financial stability while he continues recovering.
As of publishing this story, his GoFundMe has raised $1,225 of its $18,000 goal, about 7%, from 13 donations.
