New ‘Mormon Wives’ Spinoff In Development as Original Series Pauses Production Amid Taylor Frankie Paul Situation: REPORT

Production for Season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” has been paused due to an incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. However, it seems that Hulu might be working on a new spin-off series involving one of the original members of Mom-Tok.

PEOPLE reports that a spinoff show is “in the works,” as the “plan is for it to begin shooting this spring and premiere in the fall.” The show will be set in Orange County, with Jen Affleck set to star in the show alongside nine new cast members.

Jen & Zac Affleck Teased ‘New Beginnings’ In Recent Instagram Post

On Sunday, March 22, Zac Affleck shared a series of family photos on his Instagram page, most of which were taken at the beach. And with that, his caption was certainly telling.

“excited for new beginnings,” Zac wrote.

Fans were loving this collection of pictures, with many asking if they have officially moved, since Affleck told PEOPLE in October 2025 that she and her family were heading to Los Angeles.

“omg love this for you guys 😍,” one person commented.

“Did you guys end up finding a house then?!,” another person asked.

“Welcome to the promised land,” someone shared.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Stars Speak Out

Following ABC’s decision to cancel Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette,” as well as the new information that has continued to come out regarding the reality television star, two cast members from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” bravely spoke out.

Layla Taylor shared an emotional statement on her Instagram story, writing, “My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent. I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form.”

“I am keeping her children in my thoughts, hoping for their safety above all else,” she concluded.

Her fellow “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” co-star Miranda McWhorter also posted a message on her Instagram story.

“I’ve honestly been a little at a loss for words trying to process this all. Everything has been really heavy to see. Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously,” she wrote. “As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they’re safe, supported, and surrounded by love.”

If you are experiencing domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or go to thehotline.org. All calls are toll-free and confidential. The hotline is available 24/7 in more than 170 languages.
