Bachelorette Alum Tyler Cameron Announces Engagement to Tate Madden After Private Romance

Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden are taking the next step in their relationship.

The “Bachelorette” alum and Madden announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 15, sharing photos from Cameron’s proposal on Little Palm Island in Florida.

“Better late than never they say,” the couple captioned their announcement.

According to USA Today, the photos show Cameron getting down on one knee on the beach as he proposes to Madden. Another image captures Madden displaying her engagement ring while embracing her new fiancé.

The announcement marks another milestone for a couple who intentionally spent time building their relationship privately before sharing their romance with the public.

The couple quickly received plenty of support after revealing their engagement.

Several familiar faces from Bachelor Nation celebrated the news in the comments, according to USA Today.

Colton Underwood congratulated the couple and sent his love, while JoJo Fletcher also celebrated their announcement. Cameron’s brother Ryan jokingly marked the long-awaited milestone by writing, “He did it, people.”

The engagement comes nearly three years after Cameron and Madden first crossed paths.

The two met in 2022 while working on Cameron’s home renovation series, “Going Home with Tyler Cameron.” Madden, a photographer and fellow Florida native, worked on the production and also appeared on the show.

According to People, Cameron and Madden eventually went on their first date in September 2023, which also happened to be Madden’s 30th birthday.

Their relationship continued developing away from the public eye before Cameron officially confirmed their romance the following year.

Tyler Cameron Previously Explained Why He Kept Romance Private

Before publicly confirming his relationship with Madden, Cameron spoke about why he preferred to keep his dating life more private.

In a July 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the reality star revealed that he was dating “a great girl” but explained that they were focused on strengthening their relationship before sharing more publicly.

“Right now it’s better to just build a good, strong relationship,” Cameron said.

He also acknowledged that sharing a relationship on social media opens it up to outside opinions, giving the couple another reason to enjoy that period privately.

By September 2024, Cameron confirmed during an Amazon Live appearance that he and Madden were together and living under the same roof.

Cameron first became a major Bachelor Nation personality while competing for Hannah Brown’s heart on Season 15 of “The Bachelorette.” He finished the season as the runner-up and has remained connected to the franchise while pursuing projects outside reality dating television.

His relationship with Madden ultimately developed closer to home.

Both have ties to Jupiter, Florida, and their romance began while Cameron was working on a series centered around renovating homes in his hometown.

Now, the couple is returning to their Florida roots for another major chapter.

After gradually taking their relationship from coworkers to a private romance and eventually a public partnership, Cameron and Madden are officially preparing to walk down the aisle.
