‘Mormon Wives’ Star Whitney Leavitt Moves Family Back to Utah After New York Chapter

Former “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt’s New York chapter has come to an end far more sooner than many might have assumed.

The reality television personality and her husband Conner Leavitt have confirmed that they have moved their family back to their original state of Utah. This comes after the couple previously relocated to New York City while Whitney pursued her Broadway career, with a starring role in “Chicago.” This followed her successful run on “Dancing With the Stars” last year.

The couple and their three children have settled in St. George, where they’re putting down roots again in a location that puts them closer to their extended family. “We knew we needed a home base,” Whitney revealed.

Whitney Leavitt Previously Sold Her Utah Home for New York

Leavitt’s return may be particularly surprising to fans considering how enthusiastically they embraced their previous move. In fact, the family only listed their home in Utah for $899,900 in March of this year, suggesting that the decision was made relatively recently. The couple also revealed that they had fallen in love with the New York theater scene

“It’s official! We’re New Yorkers now!!!” she announced at the time.

The original move came as Leavitt was starring as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” on Broadway. During that time, Conner looked after their children at home and then subsequently pursued his own theater ambitions.

But in an interview with Good Housekeeping, Leavitt has now admitted that maintaining their fast-paced lifestyle while raising their three children – Sedona, 6; Liam, 4; and Billy Gene, 20 months – proved impossible. Moving back to Utah allows them to find more stability and rely on a stronger support network.

“It was very hard to leave New York, but it wasn’t working for our family and our kids,” Whitney explained. “We enjoyed the opportunities—we never wanted to say no. But we needed groundedness. With this house, we’ve found our base camp.”

Whitney & Conner Leavitt Launch Their Own Production Company

In a separate Good Housekeeping interview, Leavitt also revealed that she and her husband have launched their own production company. This gives a good indication that the pair are not scaling back their professional ambitions.

The husband and wife team have launched Leavitt Media House, a production company developing both scripted and unscripted projects. Conner is particularly involved with the company, while Leavitt is continuing to focus on expanding her presence outside of reality television.

She has previously announced that she has exited “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” although she will still appear in the fifth season of the show as it was filmed before her departure. This followed her acclaimed performance on Broadway. She is set to return to the stage for a six-week run of “Just in Time” in December and is also due to star in the holiday romantic comedy movie “All for Love.”
