Even Julia Roberts isn’t immune to getting starstruck once in awhile, as a hilarious throwback video of Julia Roberts coming face-to-face with popstar and longtime “The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani back in 2001 proves.
Roberts was in the middle of a red carpet interview at the Los Angeles premiere of her movie “The Mexican,” in which she starred alongside Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini, when the then-34-year-old stopped to exclaim, “Oh my god! There’s Gwen Stefani!”
Roberts then joked, “Please walk by, please walk by, please by,” hoping to meet the musician. “I was signing her on the way to work. All this morning,” the actress revealed, describing how big a fan she was of Stefani.
Stefani then approached, and the reporter told her, “Like, the biggest star in the world right here is very starstruck.” The “Don’t Speak” singer then reached for Roberts and replied, “I can’t believe it, I’m holding her hand!” before proudly telling the camera, “And she likes me! Okay!” Roberts and Stefani then shared a hug as Stefani pointed to Roberts and said to the camera “I love her.”

15 years after their red carpet collision, Stefani and Roberts teamed up for an episode of James Corden’s popular “Carpool Karaoke” segment. The episode kicked off with Stefani and Corden rocking out to the No Doubt hit “Don’t Speak.”
When asked about the beauty secrets behind her strikingly youthful appearance, the singer, who was 46 at the time, declined to share the specifics of her physical regimen. Instead, she credited her shift towards writing music about “happiness and truth” after falling in love after she said her life “blew up.”
After a rendition of “Sweet Escape” and some more chatter, George Clooney hopped into the car, and was soon followed by Julia Roberts. The foursome then jumped into a performance of “Hollaback Girl.”
When Stefani asked for her fellow passengers’ interpretations of the song, Clooney replied he believes the hit is saying, “If some guys are on a construction site and they’re yelling at a girl, she’s not gonna turn back. She’s not that kind of a girl.”
Stefani said every listener should form their own theory, but she will never say the true inspiration behind the song. She added, “All I’ll say is, I won.”

Her run-in with Gwen Stefani was not Julia Roberts’ only starstruck moment. In 2017, the “Mystic Pizza” star looked thrilled while meeting of the Real Madrid soccer team, including superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The interaction took place when Roberts and her family traveled to the Bernabeu for El Clasico. The Oscar winner got a chance to tour the locker room before a meet-and-greet where Ronaldo sweetly signed autographs for her twins, Hazel and Finn, and their younger brother Henry.
After the meeting, Ronaldo seemed to imply he’s likewise a fan of Roberts, sharing a photo of the pair on his Instagram and writing, “It’s always a pleasure to meet nice people! God bless you and your family.”
