Nick Jonas Reveals Why He Needed a Break From the Golden Globes

Nick Jonas attended the 2026 Golden Globes, which aired on CBS. During the ceremony, the “Gut Punch” singer was seen making an abrupt exit, and the footage of his water break has since gone viral. Now, the former “Voice” judge has opened up about what happened.


Nick Jonas Confirmed the Relatable Reason for His Golden Globes Exit

Parade captured video of Jonas outside the Golden Globes venue, the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. In it, he can be seen drinking a bottle of water while looking around. He’s dressed in his dashing black suit, complete with a matching bowtie.

The outlet captioned the video, “Nick Jonas taking a water break at the #GoldenGlobes2026!”

The clip went viral, with many fans offering theories about why he stepped out of the Golden Globes. The singer replied to someone on X who suggested that it was social anxiety. He said, in reference to his latest single, “Yeah…it hit me like a gut punch.”

Fans supported the former “Voice” coach. One person said, “It’s okay! It gets the best of us all sometimes 💁🏻‍♀️.” Another person said, “Very real! You’re doing great! ❤️.” Someone else wrote, “Hi Nick, you looked very nice last night. I hope you are ok. I saw you with your towel wiping down your forehead. Stay healthy, Nick. I am really worried about you.”


He Has a New Album Coming Out

In additon to attending the 2026 Golden Globes, Jonas is also gearing up for the release of his fourth solo album. He officially announced it in November 2025. The singer said, “My new album, ‘Sunday Best,’ is out February 6, 2026. Pre-order tonight at midnight ET.

After that, he announced the first single on December 14, 2025. He said, “‘Gut Punch.’ Out New Year’s Day. Jonas also teased interviews with his wife, Priyanka Chopra.

Jonas spoke with Variety on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes. He said, “Very excited. The first single, Gut Punch, has been out for about two weeks now. Response has been incredible, and the album is called ‘Sunday Best.’

It comes out February 6. It’s my fourth solo studio album. To do that amid the busiest year in the Brothers’ career with our tour that just ended was such a dream.”

Regarding the recent tour with Jonas and his brothers, they concluded the “JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour” in December 2025. Notably, this came after 74 shows.

According to PEOPLE, Jonas said at the final show, “Tonight we wrap up the U.S. leg of the 20th anniversary tour…the journey has just begun. And every year that we get to continue to be in front of you, singing these songs and telling these stories, is a gift to us. So, thank you.”
