Morgan Wallen Humorously Breaks His Silence After Viral Piano Flip

Pop country superstar Morgan Wallen recently broke his silence to make light of his May 29 piano flipping incident. A couple after his piano malfunctioned while he was performing live onstage, leading to the viral reaction, he posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok video referencing the situation.

Wallen competed on “The Voice” back in 2014 before achieving country music stardom a few years later.

In the clip, Wallen demonstrated that the broken piano wasn’t making any sound while saying, “Hey, I just want you guys to know that this piano IS working. That’s what they told me last night.” He captioned the post, “Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano.”

In the comments, fans continued their celebrations of Wallen’s return to TikTok that began 5 days ago, when he made his first post to the app since August 2025. “He’s back,” wrote one fan, adding a heart to show their excitement.

Someone else was charmed after watching his lighthearted response to the music malfunction, writing, “I love how TikTok drops me off, instant smile on my face thank you very much.” Another supporter said, “I think you handled it accordingly. We all love you.”

What Happened to Morgan Wallen’s Piano?

Wallen was performing a show in Denver on Friday when he suffered technical sound issues during the song “Sand in My Boots.” When his piano failed to work as he attempted to play along to the song, the 33-year-old flipped the whole thing before walking away. Still, he abided by the number one rule of showbiz that the show must go on, and finished the performance acapella.

Morgan Wallen Previously Held a Record Recently Claimed by Ella Langley

27-year-old Ella Langley‘s sensational hit “Choosin’ Texas,” released in October 2025, recently surpassed Morgan Wallen’s 2023 “Last Night” to become fifth-longest-running No. 1 country hit in Billboard’s history.

Wallen has a publicly friendly relationship with the starlet, having called himself “a huge fan of what he does,” per Music Mayhem. He and the Alabama native collaborated on the song “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” which came out in April 2026. They performed the song live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama the same month.

Morgan Wallen Followed His Instincts to Pursue Country Music Despite Pressure from ‘The Voice’ to Be Pop

During his run on season 6 of “The Voice,” Wallen was ironically passed over by coach Blake Shelton, who is now Wallen’s country music peer churning out hit after hit, with the “God’s Country” singer declining to turn his chair. Shakira and Usher, however, saw his potential, and he was later stolen by Adam Levine.

Wallen said in an appearance on Drury Outdoors, a YouTube hunting show that often features celebrities, that he agreed to try out pop songs because he assumed the show’s producers were “really smart people,” but followed his heart and steered back towards country during a week when he was free to select his own song.

He laughed that “they kicked me off” after the bold move. However, he still considers his time the show to be the crucial stepping stone for his career beginnings, saying it led him to meet key players as he prepared for a move to Nashville the next year.
