‘Chicago Med’ Actor Let’s His Cameo in ‘Chicago Fire’ Slip

The latest hiatus for the “One Chicago” shows has been excruciating, especially for “Chicago Fire” fans. The Season 14 Finale ended with a major cliffhanger, seeing multiple characters with their lives on the line, and now fans know that both Joe Minoso and Dermot Mulroney will leave the series. It turns out that there will be a “Chicago Med” cameo that could hint that someone is going to die.

During the Flashback Weekend in Chicago, Steven Weber, who plays Dr. Dean Archer on “Chicago Med” let it slip that there will be another crossover moment. This isn’t a huge event, as we have seen in the past, but more as a chance to connect the universes with a small appearance. This small appearance could have major consequences.

Why Would Archer Be In ‘Chicago Fire’?

The big question for many is why Archer would even be in “Chicago Fire.” It means that Firehouse 51 will head to the hospital, which is where Archer is in charge of the ED. Weber didn’t share many details about why his character was around, just sharing his love for the crossover events and how there’s a small one coming up.

He only shared that he is doing a scene, according to TV Insider. That suggests that this is a small moment in the premiere episode, with most of the focus on the aftermath of the “Chicago Fire” Season 14 cliffhanger. However, that doesn’t mean something big won’t happen.

One of the last times fans saw Archer on an episode of the firefighter series (outside of the crossover event) was when Chief Pascal’s wife, Monica, was killed in a car accident. He tried to save Monica, but her injuries were too much, and it created a heavy but impactful storyline for Pascal toward the end of Season 13.

Does This ‘Chicago Med’ Cameo Mean a Death?

Fans are currently worried that one of their favorites will die in the aftermath of the cliffhanger. For now, most are worried about Joe Cruz, especially with the latest behind-the-scenes reveal that indicates some serious injuries at the very least for the character.

However, there are also fears for Dom Pascal. While Minoso will have a few episodes to wrap up his character’s storyline, Mulroney is going to be exiting the series immediately. This wasn’t something the actor was happy about, but it could hint that Pascal runs into the building and is killed while in there, similar to the way Evan Hawkins was tragically killed off.

Archer’s appearance doesn’t necessarily mean death. This isn’t the first time any of the firefighters have ended up at Med and made a full recovery. Mouch, Herrmann, and Capp have all spent time getting medical treatment for injuries they’ve faced in the line of duty. It could be possible that Weber’s character is simply there as a familiar face for the firefighters as he delivers the news of injuries.

With the way the Season 14 Finale ended, it makes sense that multiple firefighters will need to head to the hospital. There will be issues with smoke inhalation, burns, and even crush injuries from the roof collapsing in. Right now, it doesn’t mean character deaths, but fans are understandably worried.
