Amanda Seyfried delivered one of daytime television’s most joyful unscripted moments this week after an unexpected musical collaboration with Kelly Clarkson left her visibly overwhelmed — and delighted.
The actress, best known for her role in “Mamma Mia!”, appeared Tuesday, Jan. 27, on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” where a casual conversation about music quickly turned into a spontaneous duet of Clarkson’s early hit “Beautiful Disaster.”

During the recent interview, the 40-year-old actress spoke enthusiastically about Clarkson’s music and singled out “Beautiful Disaster” as a longtime favorite, describing it as “the power ballad of this century.”
Seyfried explained that her preferred version was not the original studio recording from Clarkson’s 2003 album “Thankful,” but the later live rendition featured on the 2004 release “Breakaway.”
Clarkson, 43, quickly agreed with her guest, revealing, “I don’t like the other version. So sorry. But I love the live version,” drawing laughter from the audience.
Moments after the admission, the “Voice” coach floated the idea of singing together, leaving Seyfried visibly thrilled.
Backed by the show’s house musicians, the two launched into the opening of “Beautiful Disaster,” delivering a powerful performance that showcased Seyfried’s training and Clarkson’s signature powerhouse tone. The pairing surprised viewers, many of whom had only seen Seyfried sing in film roles.
Why Amanda Seyfried Collapsed After Singing with Kelly Clarkson
As the final note faded, Seyfried fell backward onto the couch, grinning widely, her hands briefly covering her face in disbelief.
The now-viral moment drew loud applause and cheers from the studio audience, but Seyfried’s reaction stole the spotlight.
Clarkson shared in the excitement and went a step further, inviting Seyfried to perform the song again during her upcoming Las Vegas residency.
The shows, part of Clarkson’s “Studio Sessions” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, are scheduled for July and August. The offer instantly elevated what had already become a standout talk-show moment into something fans now hope will turn into a live concert collaboration.
Clips of the duet and Seyfried’s couch-collapse reaction quickly spread online, with viewers praising her authenticity and vocal ability. Many commented on how rare it is to see a major Hollywood star react with such unfiltered excitement in front of a studio audience.
Fellow celebrities also chimed in, including former “American Idol” winner David Archuleta, who wrote, “Beautiful. Amanda is so precious in this clip lol.” Former talk show host Ricki Lake added, “Omg. Omg. I love them.”
