Keith Urban seemingly gave a subtle shoutout to Nicole Kidman amid rumors of family fallout. On May 17, 2026, the former “American Idol” judge walked the ACM Awards red carpet solo in Las Vegas, an event he attended multiple times with Kidman.
Urban kept it casual in a slate-blue shirt layered under a gray blazer, pairing the look with wide-legged cargo pants and sneakers.
The country singer rolled up his sleeves, revealing his heavily tattooed arm. At one point, Urban posed with his arms crossed, prominently displaying the “Mary” tattoo across his fingers.
Urban’s “Mary” tattoo is a sweet nod to Kidman’s middle name. In a 2021 interview with QX104 Country, the singer talked about the tribute ink.
“I had my wife’s middle name put on my fingers, and I realized that I suddenly can’t really wear any rings on that hand because otherwise her name becomes…various [words],” Urban said at the time.
Keith Urban’s Subtle Shoutout to Nicole Kidman Amid Family Split
GettyUrban’s latest public display of his tribute tattoo to Kidman comes amid ongoing speculation of family fallout following their split last year.
Previously, the Daily Mail reported that Urban felt “disrespected” after Kidman appeared at the Met Gala with their daughter, Sunday Rose.
“They’re icing him out,” the source told the outlet. “He feels disrespected and cast aside by his own daughters.”
The insider continued, “I know that the Met Gala scene was very hurtful. It was a public statement for Sunday. She’s definitely on her mom’s side. This public appearance is 100% a message of who she’s chosen.”
Meanwhile, Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack reported that Sunday Rose unfollowed Keith Urban, before re-following him hours later.
“Sunday knew exactly what she was doing,” the insider alleged. “It was a pointed move, and Keith got the message loud and clear.”
The insider continued, “The girls have a lot of love for their dad, but there is hurt, too. Sunday has been especially vocal about it.”
Keith Urban’s Tattoos for Nicole Kidman
GettyKeith Urban’s knuckle tattoo isn’t the only one he has dedicated to Nicole Kidman. Before their split, the singer had already commemorated his love for the actress with multiple tattoos.
Urban had the word “babygirl” inked on the back of his neck. In a November 2024 interview with W Magazine for the Art, Kidman shared that her husband was not allowed to use that nickname for anyone but her.
Getty“Keith’s not allowed to call anyone else babygirl,” the actress said. “But now, because of the film, it’s taken on a different meaning. So he’s like, ‘No, I still have total rights over babygirl!'”
The former “American Idol” judge also has a “Nicole” tattoo on his right bicep, and the actress’ initials, “NMK” on his wrist.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban separated in September 2025 and finalized their divorce in January 2026, citing “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences.”
