‘The Valley’ Star Brittany Cartwright Remains Positive as Divorce Proceedings With Jax Taylor Continue

“The Valley” star Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor in August 2024, six months after they announced their separation. In fact, cameras were rolling on season 2 of the Bravo show when viewers learned Cartwright filed the day before he got out of rehab, and Taylor was served with papers.

The divorce proceedings have remained ongoing ever since. Nearly two years after Cartwright filed, the former couple reached a custody agreement for their son, Cruz, a major step forward in the process. Still, Cartwright’s latest update suggests the divorce is not quite over, though she remains positive and focuses on what’s best for their son.

On the May 1 episode of her “When Reality Hits” podcast, Brittany Cartwright opened up about her divorce from Jax Taylor, which many fans know has stretched on for nearly two years.

Because the divorce is not yet finalized, Cartwright could not go into specifics, but stated, “I can’t talk too much about it because I’m still in the process of getting a divorce, and I really want it to happen this time. So I’m not going to say too much. Just, it’s not easy.”

However, what Cartwright and Taylor can agree on is making sure their son Cruz, remains their top priority.

“But Cruz always comes first for both of us, and Cruz will never see any of the toxic stuff that I have to go through,” she said, adding, “He is so far removed from any of that. He’s never going to see that. I will never let that happen to him again.”

She continued, “So, just working on it. Hopefully, one day things will be easy, but it’s hard when you’re not dealing with the easy person. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Back in November 2025, while attending BravoCon, Cartwright had hoped that her divorce would be finalized before the new year. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Speaking on the “Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey” podcast in January, Cartwright said, “The hardest thing about the actual divorce is just that it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back.

She added, “I’ve got everything in now, so I am good to go…but if the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”

Cartwright Is Feeling More Confident After Her Mommy Makeover

“The Valley” season 3 will follow Cartwright as she undergoes a mommy makeover, including removing 10-year-old breast implants gifted to her by Taylor, a moment longtime fans may remember on “Vanderpump Rules”, and replacing them with new ones in what she describes as a final farewell to her ex.

In an October 2025 Instagram post, Cartwright shared that she had undergone her procedures, sharing a three-week post-op update with a mirror selfie. “I’m so happy with my decision, do whatever makes you happy with your own body and lift other women up always! Everyone may not take the route I chose and I truly believe a woman’s body is incredible no matter what and deserves all the love! 🩷🩷,” she captioned it.

According to People, Cartwright had several procedures done in one day, including an abdominal reconstruction, tummy tuck, liposuction, and changing her breast implants.

In her May 1 podcast episode, Cartwright told fans that she was “feeling amazing” since undergoing her mommy makeover.

“I feel great from my mommy makeover. I still am going to have a little swelling up to a year. I’m six months out now,” she began. “I love my stomach, it is completely flat … I am feeling wonderful. I love my doctors, and it has motivated me to get healthier and lose weight, and just really make me more confident. I am feeling amazing,” she added.
