Brittany Cartwright Shares Shocking Amount of Money She Gave Ex Brandon Hanson Before Their Split

Brittany Cartwright shared new details about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Brandon Hanson during Part 1 of “The Valley” season 3 reunion, including the surprising amount of money she gave him while they were dating.

The Bravo star was questioned by reunion host Andy Cohen during the August 5 episode about financial support she provided Hanson while the couple was together. Cartwright also reflected on lessons she has learned from the relationship, explained how she is approaching dating differently and revealed that she recently heard from her former boyfriend.

Her castmates also weighed in on the relationship, with several saying they believed Cartwright moved too quickly after separating from Jax Taylor.

Brittany Cartwright Says She Gave Brandon Hanson Thousands of Dollars

During the reunion, Cohen asked Cartwright how much money she had given Hanson during their relationship.

“Oh my God, I don’t even want to say. It’s so embarrassing,” Cartwright admitted.

Cohen guessed, “Five grand?”

“More,” Cartwright replied.

When Cohen asked if it was $10,000, Cartwright answered, “Around.”

The revelation stunned the cast.

“Ten thousand dollars?” Lala Kent repeated in disbelief.

Cartwright clarified that the amount may have been slightly less.

“It might have been less than ten, but it was more than five,” she said.

Earlier in season 3, Cartwright explained why she agreed to give Hanson money while she recovered from her mommy makeover surgery.

“And since he had taken off work — which I cannot believe I did this — but he asked if I could give him some money,” she said during episode 10. “I was like, ‘You know what? You’re gonna come and take care of me, so I don’t care to give you some money.'”

Looking back, Cartwright admitted she regretted the decision.

“He bought me flowers with the money I gave him. The icks are piling on,” she said.

Although the couple ended their relationship in October 2025, Cartwright revealed that Hanson contacted her after his final appearance on the Bravo series.

“The last episode that he was on, he was texting me,” she shared.

‘The Valley’ Star Says She’s Changing Her Dating Approach After Brandon Hanson

The reunion also focused on Cartwright’s future after Hanson and whether the relationship changed the way she approaches dating.

Cohen referenced comments from Zack Wickham, who previously said Cartwright was susceptible to being “love bombed,” and asked whether she believed her “picker” needed work.

“Oh yeah. Like, there is not a doubt in my mind,” Cartwright responded.

She said she has already taken steps to recognize unhealthy relationship patterns.

“You guys will be proud of me. I’ve been talking with like a narcissistic abuse coach. So I feel like that’s really gonna help me,” she explained.

Cartwright added that she wants to keep seeing the good in people while establishing stronger personal boundaries.

“I see the best in everybody. And what sucks is, like, I don’t really want to change that about myself, but I have to set bigger boundaries,” she said.

Her castmates agreed they had concerns about Hanson from the beginning.

“I just didn’t like him,” Michelle Saniei said.

Jesse Lally echoed that sentiment.

“She can do whatever she wants, I just didn’t like him,” he said.

Tom Schwartz said his opinion changed as he got to know Hanson.

“He was charming at first, but the more I learned about him, I was like, ‘No!'” Schwartz said.

Wickham also explained why he believed Cartwright overlooked warning signs during the relationship.

“She is in such a fragile state,” he said.

While acknowledging that Cartwright has moved on from Taylor, Wickham said he believes she is still recovering from the end of her marriage.

“I know she’s over Jax, yes. Is she over that situation, that trauma and that hurt? Absolutely not,” he said.

Part 2 of “The Valley” season 3 reunion airs Wednesday, August 13, on Bravo.
