Bravo alum Jax Taylor has an extra special reason to celebrate. Taylor’s son, Cruz, with ex-wife Brittany Cartwright, is 5 years old. The former “Vanderpump Rules” star shared some heartfelt words for his son, including a promise, in a sweet birthday tribute.
Jax Taylor Sends Sweet Birthday Message to Son Cruz
Taking to Instagram, Taylor posted a carousel of photos of him with his only child. The pictures feature the father-and-son duo enjoying time in the pool, snuggling, cuddling, and just enjoying time together.
Several of the photos were of Cruz throughout the years, showing just how big he has gotten. One picture featured Cruz decked out in a Lakers t-shirt and a backpack. Another one had Cruz grinning from ear to ear in his car seat.
“I can’t believe you’re already five. You have brought more love and laughter and meaning to my life than you can ever possibly imagine, especially these past two years. Every time we are together it’s the best part of my life,” the reality TV star began his lengthy caption.
Taylor went on to gush over being Cruz’s father, calling it the best thing to happen to him and declaring his son a gift. He praised his son for his strength, big heart, and how Cruz looks at the world.
“You make me want to be better every day. I will always be here for you, protecting, guiding you and loving you more than anything in the world. Happy birthday buddy. Let’s have the best day ever! Dad,” Taylor ended his caption.
In April 2025, Cartwright revealed via a People magazine interview that Cruz was diagnosed with Autism and was mostly non-verbal. Cartwright confirmed in Season 3 of “The Valley” that Cruz is thriving and starting to become more verbal.
Taylor returned to Instagram after a break to focus on his mental health to celebrate Cruz on World Autism Day on April 2.
A New Beginning for Jax Taylor
“The Valley” is back without Taylor after he spent most of Season 2 in rehab amid mental health and addiction issues. Instead of dwelling on the past, Taylor’s looking toward the future.
Despite his divorce from Cartwright not yet being final, Taylor has embarked on his next chapter. In true Taylor fashion, he isn’t spilling any details just yet.
The reality TV star did team up with Roadway Moving to reveal he’s getting a new place. In a video, Taylor is seen moving boxes and packing up the condo he was living in next to his pal, Tom Schwartz.
“New chapter 🏡 Grateful to @roadwaymoving for making this move smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Here’s to new beginnings 😊🙏,” he stated in the caption.
Schwartz confirmed in the comments that Taylor was no longer his neighbor, but neither of them revealed where Taylor was going.

Well Jax your not good at relationships, and you are a cheater. But we yes you do have fans. But we know and see how much you love your son. And above everything he should always be your first priority forever and always. It’s hard when you have an addiction of any kind whether it’s drugs, alcohol, or shopping like us women have. But you too have always gotten a bad wrap from day 1. We can see past all of your craziness and deep down your a goid guy. The really bad guy was and will always be Scandoval. You were the number 1 guy on the show. And you never hid any of your bad ways you’ve always came clean in the end whenever you screwed up. Brittany I think is a really good mom. And that’s all that matters. To the both of you, if and when either of you get into another serious relationship remember tread lightly on introducing Cruz to him or her. Unless either of you are getting married again. Always put Cruz first and ask him to meet your new significant other. But don’t introduced him to just somebody your just dating. And that goes for Brittany also. Especial now that she’s starting to date. And she already got kind of serious with someone from her past way to soon. Both of you should set boundaries as far as introducing Cruz to just anybody. Especially Brittany cause we your fans think she’s too ready to meet and settle down way to quickly. She did that with you. So my friend we all wish the best for you and pray that you continue to stay off the drugs. So Jax may our Lord and Savior help you get through the hard times and help you to stay strong for your boy. Set a goid example for him to always love and look up to his dad… 👋 ❤️
