Jax Taylor Returns to Instagram With Heartfelt Tribute to Son, Cruz

Bravo star Jax Taylor is back on Instagram after more than a month-long hiatus. The former “Vanderpump Rules” star last posted in February, sharing a video of him moving out of his Valley Village apartment with the help of a professional moving company. At the time, however, he kept fans guessing, offering no details about where his new home would be.

Taylor’s recent Instagram post is for a very special reason. The reality star shared a series of photos with his son, Cruz, whom he shares with “The Valley” star Brittany Cartwright, alongside a heartfelt tribute in honor of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.

Jax Taylor Shares Sweet Tribute to His Son Cruz on World Autism Awareness Day

Jax Taylor is back on Instagram, dedicating a post to his son, Cruz. The former “The Valley” star shared three adorable photos, including one of Cruz perched on Taylor’s shoulders, a second snapshot of Cruz enjoying a snack, and a final sweet image of the two in a warm embrace.

Taylor honored his son in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day, which is observed on April 2.

“Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙,” Taylor’s caption began. “Cruzy has changed the way I see the world… with more patience, more understanding and a deeper love than I ever knew I had in me. He reminds me every day what really matters. Proud to be his dad today and every day 🩵.”

In an interview with People in April 2025, Brittany Cartwright revealed that her and Taylor’s son was diagnosed with autism and is mostly nonverbal.

“It can be difficult because I’ve never heard him say, ‘I love you,’ but he is so loving, and he shows me he loves me every single day. He is such a mommy’s boy,” Cartwright said.

“Our life is going to look a little bit different, but I feel like I was meant to be his mom. He is my better half. He is my little partner in crime. He is everything to me, and even though he can’t talk, I know everything that he wants, everything that he needs. We’re just so synced, it’s incredible,” she added.

Brittany Cartwright Shares ‘Favorite Part’ of ‘The Valley’ Season 3 Premiere

As fans tuned into “The Valley” season 3, they saw Brittany Cartwright navigating life as a single mom while raising her son, Cruz. In one especially tender moment, Cruz playfully walks up to the camera with a snack in his mouth. Cartwright posted the scene on Instagram in honor of Autism Awareness Month, calling it “my favorite part.”

“Selfishly, this scene was my favorite part. ☺️ Cruz opened up so much and everyone noticed so much growth when we filmed this season,” her caption began. “I am SO DANG PROUD OF HIM. How cute is he going up to the camera.”

She continued, ” April is Autism Awareness Month and today is World Autism Awareness Day and I’m so proud to have a platform to share our beautiful story. My son is so smart, so beautiful, so talented, and so authentically him. I am so blessed to be his mommy. 💙 #autismawarenessmonth #thevalley.”

Several of Cartwright’s “The Valley” co-stars commented on her post, showing support and love for both her and Cruz.

“You are the best mama. And I love seeing Cruz’s joy!” Nia Sanchez shared.

Both Zack Wickham and Kristen Doute agreed that it was also their favorite moment during the premiere. The show’s executive producer, Alex Baskin, even chimed in with two heart emojis.

After a turbulent season 2 with Cartwright, fans will not see Taylor in the newest season of “The Valley. In July 2025, he shared that he was exiting the show to focus on his health.

“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of ‘The Valley.’ Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz,” his statement read.
