In February, Jax Taylor revealed on Instagram that he had moved out of his Valley Village townhouse for a fresh start, but did not share any life updates until early April, when he dedicated a sweet post to his son, Cruz, during Autism Awareness Month.
However, since then, Bravo fans have noticed “The Valley” alum Jax Taylor slowly returning to social media.
On May 19, Taylor shared yet another special and incredibly meaningful milestone. The reality star is celebrating being over a year sober after checking into a facility last year for his mental health.
Jax Taylor Celebrates Over a Year of Sobriety
Jax Taylor wanted to celebrate a major milestone with fans and those who have supported him throughout his mental health and sobriety journey. Taking to Instagram, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star revealed he is officially a year and a half sober.
“This week has been a full circle moment for me…Late last summer, I checked myself back into treatment for 90 days to focus on my recovery and mental health. This week, I came back as an alumni for their 5K Run in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month 💚,” he wrote.
Taylor shared photos and videos of himself completing a 5K run for Recovery Through Repetition, a nonprofit organization that offers free fitness and yoga classes to those “affected by addiction,” per its Instagram.
Taylor added, “This journey hasn’t been easy…but it’s been worth it and I’m very grateful to be celebrating 1.5 years sober this week 🙏.”
Taylor received an outpouring of support in the comment section. MTV’s “Laguna Beach” star Jason Wahler shared, “Let’s go!! 🙌👏🙌 Proud of all the work you’re doing!”
“The Bachelorette” contestant Zac Clark wrote, “Rooting for continued sobriety. Keep going.”
Taylor Shared a Peek Inside His New Home
In February, Taylor announced in an Instagram post that he was officially moving out of his townhouse in Valley Village. Taylor shared a video of a moving company helping him load all his belongings to move into his new home. “New chapter 🏡,” he captioned his post, adding, “Here’s to new beginnings 😊🙏.”
It wasn’t until April 29 that Taylor shared a sneak peek inside his new home on Instagram, although he has yet to share exactly where he has relocated.
Taylor’s photos showed a room with beautiful brown paneled walls and a large round mirror hanging in the center. Other photos showcased a comfy beige couch with a blanket and pillows. Taylor’s son, Cruz, whom he shares with Brittany Cartwright, also made a sweet appearance in one photo, seemingly interested in one of his dad’s decorations.
“Thank you @renwildecor for helping turn my house into something special – for me and especially my little man 🏡,” he captioned his post.
Taylor & Brittany Cartwright’s Divorce Is Still Not Yet Finalized
GettyAs of this writing, Taylor and Cartwright’s divorce is not yet finalized. As fans can recall, the couple separated in January 2024 with Cartwright filing for divorce that August.
In season 2 of “The Valley,” Cartwright filed just one day before he finished his 30-day stay at a facility for his mental health and substance abuse. Taylor was later served divorce papers, which was also captured on the show.
In a May update on their ongoing divorce proceedings, Cartwright shared on her “When Reality Hits” podcast that she remains hopeful that it will be over soon.
“I can’t talk too much about it because I’m still in the process of getting a divorce, and I really want it to happen this time. “So I’m not going to say too much. Just, it’s not easy,” she shared.
Cartwright continued, “But Cruz always comes first for both of us, and Cruz will never have to see any of the toxic stuff that I have to go through. He is so far removed from any of that. He’s never going to see that. I will never let that happen to him again.”
“So, just working on it. Hopefully, one day things will be easy, but it’s hard when you’re not dealing with the easy person. That’s all I’m going to say,” she added.
