Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick may be engaged, but wedding planning isn’t at the top of their priority list right now.
Instead of diving into venues and guest lists, Broderick and the “The Valley” star are focusing on life with their daughter, Kaia Lily.
In a recent exclusive interview with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” Broderick explained that becoming parents has shifted both his and Doute’s priorities, making wedding planning far less urgent than it may have once seemed.
“Having a kid, you’re finding a whole new identity,” Broderick exclusively told “Virtual Reali-Tea.” “You’re refiguring out your relationship and I think rushing into having a wedding right now is the wrong move.”
Rather than focusing on venues, guest lists, and timelines, Broderick suggested that the couple is giving themselves room to settle into their new reality as parents before taking the next step toward marriage.
It’s an honest update from a couple whose relationship has played out in front of Bravo viewers over the past several years. While fans have watched Doute navigate major life milestones on-screen, Broderick’s comments suggest that this chapter is less about wedding planning and more about building a foundation as a family.
Luke Broderick Says Wedding Planning Is Still in the Talking Phase
Although Doute and Broderick have discussed ideas for what their wedding could eventually look like, the reality is that nothing has officially moved beyond casual conversations.
According to Broderick, there haven’t been any venue tours, planning meetings, or dates circled on the calendar.
“No planning has been done. No planning has happened,” he shared. “There’s been talk, no actual plans yet, of going to Nashville to look at venues. And that’d be like step one, seeing what venues we like, when they’re available, etc. That’s step one. That’s in the talking phase. It’s not on the calendar.”
His comments draw a clear distinction between imagining a future wedding and actively planning one. While Nashville has come up as a potential destination to explore, Broderick made it clear that even that remains a future possibility rather than an immediate priority.
For now, wedding planning remains exactly where he says it is: in the talking phase.
A Different Chapter for the Couple
Broderick proposed to Doute in September 2024 after nearly two years together. Since then, their lives have changed significantly with the 2025 arrival of their daughter, Kaia Lily.
That shift appears to be influencing how they approach every major decision moving forward, including marriage.
Rather than rushing toward a ceremony, the couple is prioritizing parenthood and taking a more measured approach to the next chapter of their relationship.
For longtime fans of “The Valley,” the update offers a glimpse into a different side of the couple’s relationship. Instead of racing toward wedding plans, they’re embracing the realities of a new chapter that comes with its own adjustments, responsibilities, and priorities.
And while a wedding is clearly still part of their future, Broderick’s message was simple: right now, becoming parents comes first.
When the planning eventually begins, it sounds like it will happen on their timeline, not anyone else’s.
