Country music star Russell Dickerson may be in the middle of a nationwide tour, but he’s already looking ahead to his next chapter.
Less than a year after releasing his latest album “Famous Back Home,” the singer tells Entertainment Now that he’s back in the studio working on album No. 5, all while bringing his biggest live production yet to fans on the RussellMania Tour.

Even with a packed touring schedule, Dickerson said he couldn’t stay away from the studio for long.
“I just left the studio probably two hours ago,” he told Entertainment Now. “That’s the beginning of Russell Dickerson album five.”
The singer said the creative spark returned faster than he expected following the release of his most recent record.
“It was less than a year ago we put out my last album, and I just can’t hold it in any longer,” he said. “I’ve got to make another one.”
The update comes during a busy year for Dickerson, who recently generated buzz with “Boots,” his unexpected collaboration with rapper Fetty Wap.
Dickerson said he has been a fan of the rapper since hearing “Trap Queen” in 2015 and credited his wife, Kailey, with helping spark the collaboration after she posted a video of him singing Fetty Wap songs in their kitchen.
“That was the most viral moment I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.
Interestingly, Fetty Wap wasn’t the first artist Dickerson had in mind for the song.
“We had pitched it to a couple different artists before,” he said. “I’m so glad it never landed because I’m such a bigger fan of Fetty Wap than anybody else we sent it to.”
According to Dickerson, the collaboration came together surprisingly fast.
“We sent it to them, and the next morning he sent back his verse,” he said. “To this day, I can’t believe I have a song with Fetty Wap.”
Seeing fans embrace the crossover track has been especially rewarding.
“I knew I loved this song,” Dickerson said. “I’m just glad it’s connecting with people. I love seeing people jamming out to it and vibing the same way we do.”
As for future dream collaborations, Dickerson pointed to another artist outside the country genre.
“Usher is one of my go-tos of all time,” he said.
Within country music, he listed Tim McGraw and George Strait among the artists he’d still love to work with.
“I’ve got one with Fetty Wap, so crazier things have happened,” he joked.

While new music is on the horizon, Dickerson is currently focused on the RussellMania Tour, which he reveals is unlike anything he’s done before.
“I wanted to make it a true experience, not just a concert,” he explained.
According to Dickerson, the tour features the largest production of his career.
“By far, it’s the biggest production we’ve ever had,” he said. “We’re taking three semi-trucks across the country every single night to put on this show.”
The wrestling-inspired theme extends throughout the production, from the ring-style stage design to the tour merchandise.
Away from the stage, Dickerson has also partnered with Hershey’s ahead of National S’mores Day, encouraging families to gather around the campfire and celebrate summer traditions. The campaign asks fans whether they’re “Camp Toasty” or “Camp Gooey” when it comes to roasting marshmallows.
For Dickerson, the partnership felt like a natural fit.
“A lot of our values align,” he said. “The magical part of what I do and the magical part of what Hershey’s does is it brings people together.”
After long stretches on the road, family time around the fire pit is one of the things he looks forward to most.
“When I get off the road, I go straight up to my fire pit,” he said. “We get the kids around, and 99% of the time that means there are s’mores involved.”
As for the campaign’s central debate, Dickerson didn’t hesitate.
“I am passionately Team Gooey,” he said. “Good things take time, and a good s’more takes time.”
