DWTS Pros Make Major Announcement, & Fans Have Plenty to Say

Fans of “Dancing with the Stars” have a lot to say about a big announcement the show pros just made.

The DWTS professional dancers had teased that something new and exciting was on the way. Luckily, fans didn’t have to wait long to learn more. The details emerged during the February 10 episode of “Good Morning America.” A “Dancing with the Stars” convention is coming in a few months, and the reaction from fans was quite mixed.

One fan gushed, “Omg I’m so excited!!”

Many ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Fans Admitted They Were Disappointed

For the first time ever, as was revealed on “Good Morning America,” “Dancing with the Stars” pros will work together on a “three-day immersive experience featuring live dance performances, panels, Q&A sessions, interactive photo opportunities, exhibits and exclusive merchandise” inspired by the show.

Ahead of the announcement, “Dancing with the Stars” pros had taken to social media to tease fans about the event. There were lots of guesses about what might be coming, and for some fans, the revelation came as a disappointment.

“Dancing with the Stars” fans took to Reddit and social media to connect with others after learning of the show convention that will take place in Palm Springs, California, from July 31 to August 2.

“Could’ve just been an instagram post,” one Reddit user suggested.

That person wrote that the event “seems like another way to just milk a little more out of fans. Plus his whole GMA thing for announcing three days in ONE city just seems a little silly.”

“I am sorry guys but that’s really disappointing. From the way they were talking I thought it was going to be much bigger,” another Reddit user admitted.

“100% – this could’ve been an email. Glad we got some tiktok content from the pros tho,” read someone else’s comment.

“Every time we get hyped this show gives us a flop announcement. When will we learn,” questioned another fan.

More than a few “Dancing with the Stars” fans questioned the choice of doing the convention in Palm Springs in the summer. Not only will the weather be very hot, some pointed out, but airport access for those coming from across the nation is somewhat limited.

“It’s three flights for me and the connection times are super narrow to make it one instead of two for me,” explained a fan.

“Palm Springs of all places is a choice,” quipped someone else.

Some DWTS Fans Are Excited & Ready to Plan Their Trips

Some people pointed out that there are a number of other television-related conventions that fans love, like Bravo, 90s stars, Christmas Con, and Hallmark.

There were “Dancing with the Stars” fans who admitted they could see the positives, at least for the show and pros.

“Heck tour sold out. Cons are popular now all these shows and networks are doing them [people] pay to meet them,” one Reddit user pointed out.

The announcement shared on Instagram received a flood of fan responses. A common response from fans was that they just wanted to get back to two seasons a year again rather than have events like this put together.

“We want two seasons a year, not this,” an Instagram user declared.

“I think the fans *really* want 2 seasons a year. I cannot just jet off to Palm Springs, CA, but I can tune in every week on my tv, haha,” another fan wrote.

There were “Dancing with the Stars” fans who were excited and left Instagram comments filled with fire emojis and the like.

Despite some disappointment regarding the announcement, fans were excited to see some of their favorite pros back on stage. Sasha Farber was there, and Lindsay Arnold joined the group, as well.

“Yay I see Sasha. I hope they bring him back next season,” gushed one person.

“Soooooo there,” declared another fan.

Someone else raved, “Omg!!! This is a dream!!!”

“NO WAYYYY OMG,” an additional Instagram comment read.

  1. This is crazy who needs a contemporary for DWTS. Frankly they are not worth what it would cost to go see them. Someone like Robert Irwin would be worth it but he’s not even listed. So no thanks you
