Nina Dobrev knows how to make a fashion statement and has now done so by opting to wear an on-trend sheer dress that is more than just a little stunning.
That kind of style savviness is surely why Who What Wear asks, “Serious question: Is there anything Nina Dobrev can’t do? I’m sure there’s something, but you’d be hard-pressed to find it among her … fashion and beauty risks (she’ll cut bangs on a whim and loves a daring sheer moment)…”
Nina did, indeed, prove that she loves a “daring sheer moment” when she showed up at the 2025 CFDA Awards at The American Museum of Natural History on Monday, November 3.
Opting for an elegant black floral dress that was adorned with a red rose pattern, the upper section of the piece was solid, while the fabric around her legs was somewhat see-through. Wearing her hair in an updo, she also opted for deep red lipstick and dramatic drop earrings.
GettyFans Adored Nina’s Sheer Floral Dress
If the style-lovers on social media are any indication, then Nina made the right choice when she opted to wear the stunning sheer floral dress to the 2025 CFDA Awards. Indeed, when E! News shared the look on Instagram, plenty of people took to the comments to share their thoughts on Nina’s fashion choice.
“I love the way that dress flows and flutters,” one person wrote.
“Stunning & classy! ❤️,” came from a fan of the look.
Another admirer added, “This look is haunting in the best way! 😮💨🔥”
“THAT is how you wear a sheer dress. She looks elegant and classy,” a third person wrote.
Someone else left a comment, saying, “So beautiful ❤️❤️ all the events lately and she isn’t missing a beat!”
Nina’s ‘Perspective’ Has Changed When It Comes to Fashion
GettyNina didn’t grow up with a lot of money, which is why she and her family would shop at a thrift store despite the fact that her friends had “elaborate wardrobes,” according to Harper’s Bazaar.
Although the family often picked up their clothes at Value Village, Nina’s mom would call it “Versace” to make it a little easier to shop at the thrift store.
Proving how far she’s come, Nina noted, “Eventually I got to go to an actual Versace fashion show and sit in the front row.”
Beyond that, the star says, “And now I go to vintage stores on purpose. It’s funny how your perspective changes.”
