‘The Chicken Sisters’ Stars Insist They Need to ‘Shoot This Show Forever’ (EXCLUSIVE)

When the season two finale of “The Chicken Sisters” airs on September 28, 2025, the show’s cast will be crossing their fingers and toes, hoping the Hallmark Channel dramedy gets renewed for another season. Not only do they want to see what comes next for their characters, but now they can’t imagine life without working together.

That’s especially true for Schuyler Fisk and Genevieve Angelson, who play sisters Amanda and Mae. They became besties almost as soon as they met, Angelson told EntertainmentNow, exclaiming, “God forbid anything ever happened, and we don’t shoot this show forever. Like, she’s never leaving me. She’s my heart!”

“Schuyler’s family has become my family,” Angelson continued. “Our boyfriends are friends with each other. Her children are the loves of my life. It runs deep here at ‘Chicken Sisters.'”

Casting director Felicia Fasano, whom Angelson called a “total legend,” is responsible for bringing her and Fisk together and encouraging them to bond before becoming onscreen sisters.

Angelson recalled, “Right before we shot season one, she called me and she said, ‘You know, you should get to know Schuyler.’ And I was like, ‘That’s a great idea.’ So Schuyler and I actually did speak for, like, a month before we went to set. We got to kind of bond before we got there.”

Once they were working together and staying near each other in Vancouver, where “The Chicken Sisters” is filmed, that bond grew by leaps and bounds.

Angelson said, “Schuyler and I have, you know, visited each other, made independent art projects together, have gone on double dates.”

Fisk chimed in, “No one’s better at advice than Genevieve. Truly, like, I don’t know what I would do (without her). Sometimes, literally in my daily life, I’m like, ‘What would Genevieve say? I need to talk to her about this.'”

“The clarity that exists between Mae and Amanda is not unlike me and Schuyler,” Angelson interjected, and then laughed, “She basically dresses me and finds me homes, and I deal with her emotional problems.”

Lea Thompson Hopes ‘The Chicken Sisters’ Reminds Viewers to ‘Have a Community of Friends’

On “The Chicken Sisters,” Fisk and Angelson get to work closely with Hollywood legends Lea Thompson and Wendie Malick, with whom they have also bonded. The foursome hit it off right away and has a “very active” text thread when they’re apart, Angelson said.

Fisk told EntertainmentNow, “Shooting season two with everyone, but also specifically with Genevieve, was so fun. Because we do have this, like, true friendship, love connection, and bond that’s only grown since last year. There’s just a trust and, like, a love that was there to build on (from season one), which made it all somehow easier. It was fun, but it also made it all deeper.”

In a separate interview, Thompson told Entertainment she was also grateful for the connections forged on the set of “The Chicken Sisters,” hoping their authentic friendships come through onscreen.

“We did really bond together, and still do,” she said. “We do really love each other. And there’s
something about being really genuine and intimate (with each other). It’s actually really hard to create that kind of environment in this world. It’s kind of easier in film and TV to be cynical.”

Thompson said she hopes the cast’s evolving relationships, onscreen and offscreen, remind viewers that “it’s so important to have a community of friends to support you. It’s very, very important. And, you know, we want to remind people to nurture those connections.”

“The Chicken Sisters” season finale airs on September 28 at 8 p.m. Eastern time, and will be available to stream the following day — along with all previous episodes — on Hallmark+.
