From 2016’s “Sleigh Bells Ring” to her most recent film, “Christmas at the Catnip Cafe,” there’s no doubt that Erin Cahill‘s second act is as a Hallmark star we adore. Whether she’s finding love with Paul Campbell‘s Ben in a cat cafe as Olivia, or getting a second chance at romance with David Alpay’s Alex as single mom Laurel, she’s helped us believe in love.
Recently, Cahill, along with Evan Roderick, Alison Sweeney, and others, was part of a “Power of Love” Hallmark panel at Atlanta’s SCAD TVFest. It’s no surprise that, when asked about her favorite love song, Cahill isn’t able to pinpoint just one. However, her answer is very understandable: the songs she’s chosen are both sung by her musician husband.
Cahill Praises Husband Paul Freeman’s ‘Beautiful’ Songs
“I have to say my husband, Paul Freeman,” Cahill gushed to “SCAD Atlanta Radio.” “Also, he really is a brilliant artist, you guys. He has a song called ‘The Promise,’ which is so beautiful. And then another song called ‘Closer Still,’ that actually became a wedding song. It was top five in all these countries, so crazy. Yeah, so ‘Closer Still’ is beautiful, too.”
“So I’m just gonna stick with that, final answer,” she added.
Along with making beautiful wedding music, Freeman’s music has also been part of several Hallmark soundtracks. “Little Lion,” a song he collaborated on with Ruthie Collins, played during “A Royal Montana Christmas.”
Freeman changed his stage name to Welsh Wolf recently in an attempt to — as he put it — “kill that character.”
“I was doing the singer-songwriter stuff for so many years,” he told the “SoCal Sound” in an interview. “I got bored of my name.”
He also admitted he didn’t think his new stuff sounded like the Paul Freeman songs people were used to. “I feel extremely free by it,” he explained.
Erin Cahill Cherishes Years Since Wedding to Paul Freeman
The former Pink Time Power Ranger married Freeman Sept. 3, 2016, in Côte d’Azur, France. In 2025, she posted photos from their wedding along with a heartfelt tribute to her husband.
9 Years ago today I got so fortunate to marry the love of all my lifetimes in front of some of our most beloved friends and family. It was a dream come true then, and I still pinch myself with gratitude every day that I haven’t woken up. Even on the hard days, I’m so in love with you that it feels right. And on the easy days, it’s actual heaven on earth… which is what life is with you [Paul Freeman]. Thank you for continuing to make me the happiest life. I love you. ❤️”
