Lacey Chabert has a new Hallmark series set to debut later this year, and she has been sharing fun updates with fans as she films it. In a new social media post, she reveals that they will soon wrap up filming.
One of Chabert’s co-stars, “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” star Barbara Niven, has recently posted some fun social media updates, as well.
Lacey Chabert Teased a New Filming Location for the Series
On May 9, Chabert shared a short video via her Instagram Stories. She was in a car, and it was traveling down a road in a scenic countryside area.
The caption read, “Road trip to a new location for the final week of filming in gorgeous Spain.”
The project is a new series for Hallmark+ based on the Jenn McKinlay romance novel, “Paris Is Always a Good Idea.” People announced the project in March.
Chabert plays the main character in the book, Chelsea Martin. Also starring in the project are “Return to Office” star Scott Michael Foster, Niven, Rebecca Hanssen, and Henry Czerny.
Filming for “Paris Is Always a Good Idea” began in Paris, France, in mid-March. Chabert posted some teasers on Instagram when production moved to Spain. Now, she has revealed there’s a different location in Spain where they will film the final scenes of the series.
By all accounts, the cast has had a wonderful time filming. On March 27, Chabert posted a string of photos on Instagram that showed her with Hanssen, who plays her sister in the series. Each of the photos showed the two posing close to one another as Hanssen held a slate from filming.
In the caption, Chabert wrote, “Sisters & slates… and a surprise photobomb. Having the best time playing sisters while filming ‘Paris Is Always a Good Idea.'” Foster popped up in the final photo with a cute photobomb.
Barbara Niven Is Having a Blast Filming in Spain
Neither Hanssen nor Foster has posted many filming updates on their Instagram pages. Niven, however, has given fans quite a few peeks into her experience.
On May 3, Niven shared a video on Instagram where she revealed some of the key items she has found helpful to have with her in Spain. In the caption, she wrote, “Can’t wait to share this series with you, it’s going to be so much fun!!”
Niven’s list of must-haves included sunglasses, a Spanish dictionary and phrasebook, and a copy of “Paris Is Always a Good Idea.”
The comment section of Niven’s post was filled with notes from fellow Hallmark stars and lots of fans.
Chabert gushed, “You’re the best. So happy you’re here!”
Alison Sweeney, who co-stars with Niven in the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” movies, wrote, “I knew you’d love it!!!”
“A Biltmore Christmas” star Kristoffer Polaha added, “Amazing!”
As one of Niven’s fans pointed out, not long ago, Niven had been filming a different Hallmark project in a snowy Canadian location.
The fan teased, “So, let me get this straight. You left snow a short time ago and now you’re on the beach. You sure get around!! Have a great time!!!” Niven responded, “Ha! My life is a tad crazy, isn’t it?”
The book’s author also commented on the post, writing, “You’re amazing! I’m so thrilled that you’re a part of this!”
Hallmark has not yet announced a premiere date for the series, which will air on its streaming platform, Hallmark+. “Paris Is Always a Good Idea” is expected to debut later in 2026, and with filming almost over, fans will likely get further updates soon.
