There’s no doubt that fans of romantic movies know Paul Campbell thanks to the fact that he’s a Hallmark king, a.k.a. one of the channel’s most popular stars. However, there are a few details about this particular actor that viewers might not be aware of and would certainly be interested to find out about.

1. Paul Married His Wife Twice
Campbell first married Lorie Metz on June 25, 2009, when the pair eloped in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to Soaps. They then wait a few years before holding a second larger wedding so that their family and friends could celebrate with them.
On the couple’s 10th anniversary, Campbell hopped onto Instagram to share a photo from their wedding day that showed the pair on a tandem bike, and wrote, “@lulujeans – you’ve always carried me forward and there’s no one I’d rather ride off into the sunset with.”
2. Paul and Lorie Welcomed Their Son Via Surrogate
“My wife and I had a bumpy road trying to get pregnant and ultimately we were told that if we wanted to have a child we’d have to have a surrogate,” Campbell explained during a November 2018 interview on Hallmark’s Home & Family.
After facing a few disappointments with potential surrogates, Campbell and Metz eventually connected with a woman who ended up carrying couple’s son, Kingston, who was born in April 2016.
Nowadays, Campbell often shares photos of Kingston on social media and, as you might expect, each one is absolutely adorable!
3. Paul Used to Have a Very Different Career

“When he was 18, Campbell left school and worked as a carpenter and woodworker for several years before developing an interest in acting,” TV Insider explained.
Although we have no doubt that Campbell’s skills with wood were appreciated, we’re definitely happy that he ened up working in front of the camera.
4. He Started on a Sci-fi Show
When Campbell first started acting, he didn’t immediately jump into romantic roles. Instead, he landed a part on a science-fiction show.
The actor played Billy Keikeya on “Battlestar Galactica” from 2004 to 2006; however, he left the series when his career was killed off.
5. Paul Has Written Multiple Hallmark Movies
HallmarkAlong with being a Hallmark actor, Campbell is also a producer and writer. If you didn’t know, he penned 2021’s “Christmas at Castle Hart” starring Lacey Chabert and Stuart Townsend, and “An Unexpected Christmas” with Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes, which came out that same year.
That’s not to overlook 2022’s “Moriah’s Lighthouse” starring Rachelle Lefevre and Luke Macfarlane, as well as a beloved holiday movie that was also released in 2002, “Three Wise Men and a Baby,” which he wrote with fellow Hallmark star Kimberley Sustad. The duo also wrote 2024’s “Three Wiser Men and a Boy,” with Russell Hainline.
