Erin Napier teased one of her most insanely difficult home repairs since she and her husband, Ben Napier, began their career in home renovation.
In an Instagram post from Erin, she showed her fans a look into HGTV’s “Home Town” episode from Sunday, April 12. During the episode, she and Ben helped Erin’s childhood friends Tracy and Dan renovate their dream home in Laurel, Mississippi.
Erin & Ben Napier Transform the Most ‘Unusual Foundation Problem’
Although the HGTV couple ran into one of the most dangerous home foundations they’ve ever seen, Erin was motivated to transform the space for Tracy and Dan, with whom she attended high school.
“TONIGHT on Home Town, you’ll meet my friends Tracy and Dan. We went to high school together and they’re buying an absolute dream boat of a house like they have always wanted, that another friend of ours actually grew up in! They want to give their two little girls the cul de sac childhood in a quiet neighborhood, maybe even with a fairy garden in the backyard?” Erin captioned her Instagram post. “The house was incredible, like a perfectly preserved time capsule… with the most insane and unusual foundation problem we’ve ever personally encountered. No one could’ve known!”
Erin ended her caption by explaining the relevance of a hidden message she kept in the kitchen of the home she and Ben renovated for Tracy and Dan.
“And just in case it doesn’t make the cut, there’s a message hidden inside the fridge box beneath paint in their kitchen. Tracy will understand,” the HGTV star wrote, referring to the handwritten message that read, “Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, for a future and hope.”
Ben Napier Takes a Risk on Rough Home Foundation
In a preview video from the episode, shared on HGTV’s Instagram, the network joked about the house’s foundation issue, writing, “a horror movie but it’s just a home with foundation issues.”
During the clip, Ben took a risk by lightly jumping on the floor of the home, prompting the eroded foundation to seep dust through its cracks. Erin was so shocked, she could be heard telling a friend over the phone, “The house is basically sitting on air.”
To watch new episodes of “Home Town” season 10, fans can tune into HGTV on Sundays at 8/7c.
