HGTV icon Jonathan Scott is giving fans a glimpse into one of the most sacred places in his home.
The 48-year-old shares his life with his fiancée, “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel. Though they don’t always agree on design choices, they’re quite happy and in love.
In a new social media update, Jonathan Scott revealed he created a gorgeous space in his front yard designed specifically for quiet reflection. Fans went wild for the stunning space, with many saying they’d like something similar in their own homes.
Jonathan Scott Shows Off His Gazebo & Rose Garden
Even busy entrepreneurs like the Scott brothers need some peace and quiet now and then. Jonathan Scott recently invited fans inside his beautiful outdoor sanctuary.
“Here’s a little sneak peek at my yard, check out the entire space and get some backyard design tips in the latest YouTube video in my bio!” the HGTV personality shared on Instagram.
“My favorite place in my backyard is actually in my front yard,” Jonathan Scott explains in the video. “It’s my gazebo and rose garden. This gazebo was actually originally on the other side of the property, almost 100 years old, and it was falling apart.”
Though many homeowners would have demolished the gazebo, the 48-year-old saw untapped potential. He immediately knew he needed to restore it to its former glory and make a few upgrades along the way.
“So I rebuilt it, raised it up so it fit my height,” the renovator continued. “I added outdoor lighting, I added a heater in there, and then I transplanted all the original roses, which were 60 years old. Kept them alive during all of construction and replanted them.”
“So when you look at the roses around here, most of them are 60 years old,” Scott added, giving fans a glimpse of his oasis. “This to me is a very special place. It’s also where I buried Gracie and Stewie. So this is a place where I come out and I just have a little quiet time.”
Gracie and Stewie were Jonathan Scott’s beloved rescue dogs, who passed away of old age. They frequently appeared on his social media channels, garnering a fanbase of their very own.
